Re: No Updates ?

It hasn't, you've just been paying zero attention. If you had bothered to check the pinned threads, you would've seen that the beta has gone through two more iterations since December. The release of the new update is expected any day now.

Re: Been Away...Any word on DLCs etc??

The end results from wars are going to be resolved through actual peace negotiations with lots of new options, rather than the old system of "you occupy the region, you're stuck with it". You can also trade regions, resources and provincial units with other factions outside of war, including in exch...

Re: On Trade

You appear to be making making 340% of the base value of that iron trade in a region with, what, a +22% local commerce modifier. Also, you have 146k money in the treasury, with 4.8k income well beyond the point where stockpiling money is supposed to hit diminishing returns. So... What I'm getting fr...

Re: Macedonien removed over 4000 decadenz in one turn

Judging by the token gain, they declined to Old government status on turn 105. I'm guessing they were Glorious before, so would've lost the +35% decadence modifier from that. If declining in government status reduces government age like progressing does, that seems like it should account for the rem...

Re: Attack and Defence Again

impulses aren't random, in effect the first sees every unit on the map expend 1 MP, the second sees every unit expend its second MP and so on. So more MP mean you carry on moving while other stacks/units have stopped. Within an individual movement tick / impulse, armies (apparently?) move in some s...

Re: On skirmishers

All 14 Horse archers caused "Exhaustion" in their target. You get that regularly with foot skirmishers? I haven't bothered to actually count, but in the campaign I'm wrapping up as Aethiopia against the Seleucids in a multiplayer game, having a support line of foot archers (empirically very differe...

Re: Attack and Defence Again

If one army moved during the last movement tick and the other did not, the one that did not move is always the defender, based on this post . It used to work in a different, more opaque manner before version 1.0.6. I'm not sure what happens when two armies arrive in the same region at the same time ...

Re: On skirmishers

The values for "fatigue margin" are only listed for ranged combat units, so by logical deduction is not a melee unit feature. The 2nd pic shows what exceptional skirmishers can do to the enemy. The manual says what the Skirmisher trait does: * Some units have the skirmisher trait. Even if they lose...

Re: Unit Move Routes

I've noticed that often/sometimes when I plan the move of a unit from one region to another that the AI takes over and changes the route after I make the final click to confirm. Why is this? This happens for movement orders targeting another stack. I have not seen it any other circumstance. Althoug...

Re: Lake Bug

The AI can't lose units to being out of supply, unless they're in a besieged city (there's a checkbox in the options menu to turn this rule on for players as well). I see three possibilities. 1: It's a Parthian fleet and will disappear once you wipe out Parthia and they have no surviving allies. 2: ...

Re: A Bug?

There can be multiple Abandoned Palaces in a region if it gets made a capitol and then conquered multiple times. Massilia/Emporia having multiples of Epiteichismata and their other faction-specific building per region is working as designed, that's a faction-specific mechanic for them.

Re: Ranged Attack: Skirmish Phase

1: Ranged attack vs Ranged defence makes sense. However, melee units don't seem to have a ranged defence value. Do they just use their regular defence value, or is there something else going on? They do have one, it's just that in battles, the game always shows the tooltip with the duel phase value...

Re: The Trouble With Latium...

The rise of slave population at Rome are a little mysterious for me. For the most part i have no problem of loyalty and then in a dozen of turns the slave population raises a lot, perhaps with conquests but slaves by conquests go to any slave market's region, no ? And if my memory is good i think t...

Re: How are naval units supplied?

They are able to draw supply from friendly ports within the same seazone. If you need to maintain a consistent blockade against a coastal region away from your ports, you can split your fleet into 2 and rotate them each turn so one half is always in supply to recover from the attrition hits.

Re: Question to devs

A) Raiding - what exactly does it do? When I raid a region I dont seem to know what exactly do I gain? Money, manpower or metal OR its just a penalty towards the region that was raided. I really wish it was more transparent. A simple message that a region X was raided and I got X amount of money or...

The battle deployment logic is still an issue...

See the screenshot below. Instead of being deployed in the frontline where they could make use of their overwhelming attack power, the African war elephants and their [MODERATION: let's keep the language appropriate please] support value are replacing far superior archers in the support line. I also had issues logging into multiplayer today. Got in on the fifth try, though. The multiplayer server has been a bit slow to respond in general since the patch.

Re: Determining who enters what region.

Good to know. But the question that started the thread still stands: What happens when two opposing armies are about to enter each other's region on the same movement tick?
