yes, I noticed something similar in a recent game I played before the new oil consumption rules came in. By Nov 1944, I had the following units: ARM 3 MECH 33 FTR 17 TAC 18 (beats the 16!) STR 1 I think I was consuming about 120 fuel points from my reserves each turn when moving everything. "Fortuna...

I think the main problem is the fact that air units inherently get supply level 2 (to allow them to operate on islands). If they had to live with whatever the actual supply available was, then you would rarely see an air use rebase deep into enemy territory (unless city supply was available) due to ...

Actually if you force Italy to surrender this way (Tunis + Sicily) you kindly provide Germany with tons of PP income (Vichy + all Italy). And if Germany doing more or less good on all fronts, this bonus PP can be much more benefit for axis, then low tech italian troops at their command. Also someth...

Currently Garrisons represent; Static and Fortress units, Security units and single divisions. Foot Infantry although describing their level of motorisation state doesnt describe their role, which in CEAW is primarily garrisoning or security. Hence, I think the current term is fine even though GARs ...

Re: British air base control

Section 46 of the GS manual lists British airfields (island bases north of Scotland) that are controlled by certain key cities. Glasgow is said to control the airbases at Stornoway and Benbecula, and Aberdeen is said to control the one at Lerwick. I'm currently playing the Axis side and captured Gl...

Re: Slovakia and Bulgaria

Firstly thank you for this excellent upgrade and kudo's to all involved. It is amazing. In the next upgrade (hopefully there will be continued enhancements to this great game) - I would like to address two small issues. Firstly Bulgaria: Bulgaria never declared war on the USSR and throughout the wa...

russians take horrible losses, but sooner or later you break through, i did have a 2nd front in france with us and british armor, couldnt even make it into brussels there were stopped dead in there tracks, I think because the easternfront is so big you are able to flood in and cut of a lot of germa...

Re: A Question or Two on Tactics??

In an attempt to improve even slightly in this game, perhaps souls out there could give me a few suggestions re: 1. The Italian sub blob. So, having lost Gibralter, the North Atlantic now teems with Italian subs. My US strategic bombers are at level 6 but still often inflict none or usually only 1 ...

If axis player wants to get spain on his side at all costs, and then go for Iraq/Persia, he will for sure, but its up to you to delay it and make costly. Yep, its all about the brits delaying the Germans for as long as possible so that they cannot assault and knock out Persia before Russian reinfor...

Yep, its an issue with Para units - they want to jump, walk or rail instead.

oh ok, My main reason for going early is to get the oil earlier from both countries. I ran the axis out of oil in mid 1942 in my first game. I feel I did everything right but I used too much oil :( This is usually an issue if you have too many ARM and TACs.... Or if you dont use your Strat rail eno...

Spain is like any other minor in that all of its territory switches to the conqueror in the event of surrender. I just completed a game where this actually happened - the German player had withdrawn all of his non-Spanish units from Spain before the surrender so there were no issues with isolated un...

I thought that it was intentional - like when Paris gets encircled, the french cant deploy units. Its one of the reasons that I encircled London in our game - to stop you building new units in Britain. If the rule was changed, then the russians could deploy units in any city they owned that had been...

Its quite easy for transport to get into african coast during bad weather season, I guess (like it happened in our current game). I guess the issue here is that the French dont start with a GAR in Casablanca so its up to the brits to get someone in there. Personally, I think a GAR should start there - I was one of the ones that did manage to sink the German transport ;-)

I this is related to routine used to "swap" units. I think it removes the units from the map and them places them in their new positions. It is the placing action that makes units visible for the turn. I think the same thing also happens for ferried units. I had meant to report it myself during play...

If the FTRs are striking targets that you intend to attack and they are reducing entrenchment, then its can be a good approach. There is the possibility that they might suffer flak damage, which may accelerate their strength and efficiency reduction, which is the main downside.

An interesting point. I think the issue is that early war motorised infantry were actually slower than armour because of the poor vehicles early (just trucks) - in fact during the german advance, alot of panzergrenadiers actually rode on the tanks and dismounted when trouble was found. Later in the ...
