Hi I do not see a problem. The gaming gods have it in for you :). In the 40+ plus games I have played maybe in 1 or 2 Had a partisan appear and take a city on the first turn after capture. Look at it lilt this that groups not attached or with the government that Surrendered decides to keep fighting...

Yes, if we need to weaken things a bit, having the ARM as regular would be my first change option.....

Morris and I are running another game from Jun 41 in parallel with our current one (now Jan28 1942) and there is at least one other game closing in on Barbarossa that I'm aware of. So we should get some info pretty quickly.

I was referring to a strong (only formed by corps units) double russian defensive line only at the forests, leaving the clear russian terrain for the panzers to have their fun. Surely they will get to Stalingrad or even more to Tambov but the panzers surely would be reluctant to face a strong russi...

All,

The Wikipedia info is consistent with other references that I have and shows the basis for the changes made..

I certainly agree that when to go on the defensive is a key German decision, I also think people generally have the wrong idea about the German tactic's in Russia, I believe it is key to kill Russian units (whilst minimising your losses), territory is a secondary issue Yes, the key is to only targe...

Based on my current game in Feb 45, it does still seem to be a tightrope. My German manpower levels are good (68%) but I've had to manage oil carefully through 1944 (bottomed out at 88 at one point). It really does seem to be very dependent upon your strategy (high oil using units) and what casualti...

About german manpower I feel that the game is well balanced now. Before tweaking german manpower I remember that I had manpower issues from early summer 1942 when playing with axis. Now these manpower issues with the germans seem to appear by mid-1943. I also think that this question have much to d...

In my current game as the axis, my oil situation looks very much like the Ronnie-Sean game, as I've spent most of 1944 below 200 oil (had 2 turns below 100!) so I wouldnt want to reduce German oil any further...

Option 1 for me. The Belgians desperately wanted to avoid being in the war (and being a battlefield again) to the point that they were not even prepared to meet with the British or French to plan common defence strategy for fear or provoking the Germans. If the Germans had gone east and left them al...

In a game I'm playing as the axis, I have landed a para on the airfield and it does seem susceptible to air and naval bombardment. It could probably be killed if the allied player moved a MECH corp into the Malta fortress hex....

Re: GSv2.00.03 (Hotfix 03 to GSv2.00ap)

1. Changed code so Allies don't suffer a morale loss if Belgium is Axis controlled when Belgium surrenders. The Canadian units spawn in both situations. Guys, this needs to be seriously thought through. France can knock Belgium out on turn 2 of the game if you deploy your forces well on turn 1, and...

There is nothing wrong with your points, but I don't think my main concern still stands: My concern is that because the system is 'year-based', a unit lost early in the year can't be replaced for months, while a unit lost late in the year can be replaced relatively quickly. A fixed, 6-turn lag seem...

I will fix this and make an update You might recall some time back that I pointed out that some weird things would happen if the French invaded Belgium (and that they could knock it out in one turn) but it was thought at the time that it would be rare and that the allies should suffer some penalty ...

I am surpised you are having oil issues, the rules mean I haven't had any problem and that includes Sealion which really burns it up. I assume you are on the latest version with 'part use' and the slightly reduced rates? Or have you really maxed ARM? How many ARM and TAC do you have? Yes, I'm on th...

I don't think oil is an issue any more. The changes made mean reasonable planning gives you no real oil issues. I disagree. In my current game as the axis I'm having to be quite careful about managing my oil use. TACs and ARM are powerful units for the Germans late in the war but they really burn u...

Borger, Good points. I agree with all you said and that we need to keep things the way they are now. Otherwise; we risk unbalancing the game. Ronnie, I'm sure you still have bad memories of the 1942 Operation Overlord I pulled lead by my para's before the quotas were reduced! :D I agree that we sho...

If we let the partisans have supply level 1 that means the partisans can repair one level per turn and the efficiency won't drop. It will actually increase each turn to the max of the country. Most partisans are UK so they can get quite high on the efficiency. That means they can become formidable ...
