It was a wild game - well played thanks. First time mutual break in the DL for me!

Re: Please don't make me come and get you.
So my earlier comment was directed to medium infantry army tactics and frankly no I am not having a difficult time with any concept here. Apparently you disagree that a defensive plan is a viable tactic. Looking at your exhibit B that can certainly be a valid tactic by your opponent. Let's take for...

On my new build I have an 250 GB M.2 drive on the MoBo as the C drive with Win 10 and a 500 GB SSD as my game/storage drive with my Steam library. There are plenty of YT videos demonstrating how to move your steam library or non-steam installs as well.

Re: Please don't make me come and get you.
People are conflating two different things. People trying to defend this tactic seem to imply I am some neanderthal who just wants to *hulk smash* and run in a line at each other. But there is a distinction between "clever tactics" and just time-wasting. Let's go back to the game at hand. The yello...

Re: Please don't make me come and get you.
Sounds like Mike has run into the bane of PVP players everywhere, a player who will only fight at good or overwhelming odds. Although usually found in multiplayer sandbox games and not as much in a wargame setting. Personally I have only had one incidence of a turtling opponent since FOGII was relea...

Re: Interview with Philippe, Lead Designer of FOG Empires
It’s the first time I’ve been hearing one of your interviews and it was very interesting to understand the history of AGEOD and the way FOGE was designed. It was a long interview but interesting from the beginning to the end ! Edit : You should definitively try to do one with RBS, the FOG2 developp...

Re: Cavalry and Battle Frontage Solution
The Parthians screened their cataphracts with the horse archers and harassed the Roman formation causing mounting casualties(for some reason they did not form testudo at that point). The testudo is not conductive to throwing javelins or engaging in close quarters combat, so forming it might've rend...

Re: Cavalry and Battle Frontage Solution
What do you think of a battle like Carrhae ? Would it be modelled correctly by a stalemate of legions vs cataphracts + loss of roman cavary vs parthian cavalry on the flanks? Or something different? Close. I just read up on Carrhae in Peter Connelly's Greece and Rome at War. Crassus ignored advice ...

Re: Cavalry and Battle Frontage Solution
Geffalrus originally brought up the Battle of Magnesia, stating that the heavy cavalry beat Roman infantry on that flank by charging into them. In point of fact, they routed light infantry and cavalry, which then rallied and repelled the elite heavy cavalry. That's why I keep mentioning it. As for ...

Re: Cavalry and Battle Frontage Solution
I appreciate your contribution to the discussion. However, people who study military history in depth didn't make the video or the Wikipedia entry. They teach at military academies, and they teach that this was the Age of Infantry. Great states with professional, well equipped infantry armies ruled...

Re: Has Field of Glory Empires been a commercial success?
Paradox succeed without a tactical battle system. They have the privilege and momentum of a huge player base, good for them! We definitively want to continue support Empires, rest assured :) Do you mean support by realising DLC or the real support? You certainly don't see a long list of DLC with AG...

Mike's points are well taken and well said. He has presented numbers but most of us, myself included, approach the RNG debate from gut feeling based on game experience. Despite being presented with evidence, opinions based on a notion that something isn't right are hard to change. (like the current...
