Re: corp advance

No that's not possible - although modding it as an option may be possible. If not yet then in the future. I hope the developers could add that in the future, not sure how much work that would take. I doubt the devs will ever implement that themselves...... However in PC1 is was quite strait forward...

Re: Herr Pferdmann rides again!

November 30th 1941 (13) With a ferocity that stunned the German infantry, a fresh battalion of British troops attacked from the south, they shrugged off the artillery fire to push forward, seemingly ignoring casualties. From Halfaya pass the trapped Raj infantry launched their own attack in an atte...

Re: Herr Pferdmann rides again!

And so ends Crusader. The AI is always boundlessly confident that it's 3 units can take the player's dozen. I've given the occasional thought to what it would take to make the AI 'smarter', and you could do a lot fairly easily, but I'm probably barking up the wrong tree. The conceit of the campaign...

Re: Herr Pferdmann rides again!

November 28th 1941 (11) The British, now cut off from retreat and supply, should have lost heart. Pferdmann could not feel anything but respect for men that refused to simply give up the fight as they made one last effort to break free of the snare they found themselves in.. “Send another offer for...

Re: Herr Pferdmann rides again!

November 26th 1941 (9) With the attack faltering the British generals made one last gambit. Throwing everything they had to support Sidi Azeiz in a desperate attempt to hold the ground they had taken. An armoured battalion led the charge followed swiftly by a battalion of Portees and a battalion of...

Re: When should you reinforce units during mission?

Yeah its very boring. But it pays dividends when you roll around with 5* 8 movement 15/20 overstrength rapid fire british portees(AT) fronted by 3x 5* 6movement british light tanks. Tanks just vaporise on attacking the formation. I back it with 15 strength AA 5+ movement unit that kills any plane s...

Re: I dont like ai allies...

It might be uefull to have a fourth option in the UI to take full control of the AI if it’s possible? Its balanced around you not controlling them - if that was an option then they'd have to be significantly weaker. Plus as AI controlled on higher difficulties they benefit from the bonus accuracy -...

Re: When should you reinforce units during mission?

By what i call the 0 damage recon exploit. Get 20 recons .... split them. Surround Somua S35, Char B1, Matilda II. Anything with high armour that wont get damage. Surround with 6 recons. Attack with all 6 for 0 damage. Then fly a 1 slot bomber in for 0 damage (double move allows another in to attac...

Re: I dont like ai allies...

One tip in helping "control" your AI allies..... While you can't tell then "Attack this hex" what you can do is guide them........ To do so you need to properly support them with artillery/planes. Lay some fire on that victory hex and suppress/kill some strength points and who do you think the AI wi...

Re: When should you reinforce units during mission?

I dont reinforce units unless it can capture a victory hex (infantry),is a strat bomber (needed to suppress), or my (mid to late game) tank blitzkrieg unit(3 fast 6 movement light tanks backed by 8 movement anti tank). I love a 2-4 (split it if its 4 str) strength tank. I wait for one to receive da...

Re: When should you reinforce units during mission?

Generally my aim (like in PC1) was to never reinforce mid scenario. There's already been a comprehensive list posted on what to consider and my thought process is similar. One good exercise to do is keep a mental note when you do reinforce a unit - then have an honest evaluation with yourself at or ...

Re: Kursk design bug... ?

Not a design bug....more a design flaw. The thing is its unlikely that you'll find them on your first play through (for most players) Most people will follow the briefing. Interesting, i always thought that securing and scouting flanks is imperative. Its a basic of military tactical doctrine. So at...

Re: Herr Pferdmann rides again!

Yup, good to see Horseman back in the saddle. Really looking forward to seeing him handle the more strategic/tactical Middle East line. What I'm loving the most is that this is still only my second play through and I haven't played the same scenario for the second time yet (I played the alternative...

Re: Kursk design bug... ?

Not a design bug....more a design flaw. Still I agree with you - there are several instances through the campaign where this sort of thing can happen. The thing is its unlikely that you'll find them on your first play through (for most players) Most people will follow the briefing. At the end of the...

Re: Herr Pferdmann rides again!

November 24th 1941 (7) In a display of courage seldom seen the British infantry threw themselves forward. Men of 1.Schützen Regiment watched in awe as they threw themselves forward again and again. When the attacks finally stopped not a single man was left alive. They’d disregarded all sense and sm...

November 20th 1941 (3) Colonel Rossi didn’t know what had happened. The British artillery had moved up and engaged directly against his tanks causing heavy damage. The South African infantry that pursued his fleeing battalion picked off some stragglers. https://i.imgur.com/gbWnFbq.jpg Generalmajor ...
