Need more info to try and help. Did the CV move before trying to attack? Is the CV in a port? CV's in port have a range of 1. They must be at SEA to use the full attack range. IMO Air units should not be able to base no closer than 2 hexes enemy territory. (i.e. front line) . Currently air units can occupy hexes at the front which in real life they would not. There are other situations that will not follow this requirement (i.e. terrain, islands) That's is my view. I vote...

Also, the Attack ranges were increased, but the spotting ranges are the same as before. Which adds to the FOW.

Yes, go to Apple's support site - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204036

Download and install the java 6 version and see if the game runs. Then you can update to the latest version from Oracle.

Was the port attacked by an air unit in the opponents turn? If a Strategic bomber has the range to the port, a SAC attack could be performed to see if any unit is present.

As I will say again ground and naval units have an attack range of one except for air units. The scale is too great for artillery ground unit to attack at 100km range (2 hexes) except for 2 or 3 large rail guns that Germany had which is difficult to simulate in a strategic scale game. In 4.00 the rules changed so that while major powers are neutral, protagonists can not enter coastal hexes. So that gamey play camping out spawning areas
at least let the convoys move sometimes. The same goes for Allies entering Italian coastal hexes.

We have had para units in use since version 2.0 which was 6 years ago. We did make changes that Air units will retreat from ground / amphibious attacks so that air units should not be used as blocking units. We made the rules that air units will retreat and take heavy losses to steer players to more...

Yes that is correct. I do not endorse your latter comment. Players who use windows can create a separate sandbox that can have both versions. Version 3.1 has bugs and has some issues concerning balance. Version 4.0 has fixed many bugs and has better balance and has a more historical feel. One thing ...

Hi,

That is correct in the scenario you gave. That's just the way the Mac version is set up. But, you can not play 3.1 games with the 4.0 app or visa versa.

So finish your 3.1 games and maybe you will find some 4.0 games with either PC or other Mac players.

You should discuss this in another thread.
1 the scale of the game is about 50km / hex so artillery would not have the range of 2 hexes in corps size or lower units.

2) There will not be an editor provided or available.

Hex 149,44 and hex 149,45 are designated Lake since the others are clear for game mechanics to work properly.

Actually I checked my map and they are clear hexes not swamp. It is just the shading that makes it look like they are swamp.

So the map is correct to the scenario files and hex terrain.
