Re: Role of Converted Tank Engineering Vehicles

Hi Konigstiger88, I think you bring up a good question. There are probably a lot of different opinions out there concerning how to implement a unit like you are referring to, or whether it's worth adding at all. Just my 2 cents but I don't see why a pioneerpanzer III couldn't represent some kind of ...

Re: Panzer Corps 2 - Dev Diary #9

All great additions to me. I especially like the neutral player option and had been wishing it were available in PzC for a while now.

Visually, relative to the rest of terrain changes (improvements IMO), the marshland terrain type is such a huge improvement.

Thanks for the update!

Re: Air units in PC2

This brings up th4 possibility of fighter/bomber switching. Me110s and P47s among others were used in both roles. A P47 with two 500lb bombs could do a lot of damage to ground units, but if caught by a fighter carrying bombs could have problems. I have modded using switchable air units between Figh...

I like your campaign idea. A fresh take on the game and I’m not sure anyone has tried it. Keep us updated on how it’s going :)

Re: How to add multiple unit sounds in efx.pzdat?

No prob,

btw, just curious about what sound mods everyone is using. I'm thinking about making some new movement sounds for game if time permits.

Re: How to add multiple unit sounds in efx.pzdat?

And if none of that makes sense, I'm sure Maguro can clarify it better. Nope, I think you pretty much nailed it, cw58. In fact, you reminded me that I wrongly called the animations folder the "efx folder" in my earlier post. My unit is working well, its movement sound is ok but impossible to see ne...

Re: How to add multiple unit sounds in efx.pzdat?

Sorry, I forgot to mention, (if you haven’t done so already) once you start playing around with these files, you’ll want to have everything backed up in case there’s a problem.

Re: How to add multiple unit sounds in efx.pzdat?

Hi Isnoop, Having added a few sounds manually, I can say that attack and movement sounds work in a slightly different way. When you add a movement efx, just drop the mp3 for that effect in the movement folder, located in the audio folder of the game. Make sure the efx name of the mp3 matches what yo...

Re: Mods Question?

If my memory is correct, Steam might be a bit tricky with mods but then again my steam experience is only with other games, not PzC. I've installed mods on IL-2 which I had from steam. I basically copied a new instance of the game to my desktop or new folder (can't remember which and I don't think i...

Re: An idea for support aircraft

You won't get any argument from me on the efficacy of tactical air support. I too have seen the 2-3% kill rate stat. This "support aircraft" idea is something you can choose to implement or not. Like all mods in PzC, the beauty is that the choice to use it is yours. Implement what suits your prefere...

Re: An idea for support aircraft

Here is another concept - the "shield". Obviously, this indicates the air unit is defending an area/adjacent unit. I'm having a tough time finding an image that blends well and still thinking about how best to do the "colorized zone" concept.

Re: An idea for support aircraft

I agree. The wifi icon is out of place. My idea was that it represents communication with ground units but the icon itself hasn't been the main focus until now. I'm entirely I can do a nice looking colorized zone but I'll give it a try.

Too give a little more sescription, this image shows the 190 working in it's different roles; the same unit in regular & support mode, as well as the small icon.

Re: An idea for support aircraft

Here are the icons I am using as well. I gave the "support version" the same basic icon with some kind of communication bars. Why?? I couldn't think of anything better :? . Again, ideas are always welcome.

An idea for support aircraft

I would like to your opinions on this idea. I was thinking it would by a nice addition to give tactical aircraft the ability to support ground units in defensive situations. In other words, have them act similar to artillery when the enemy attacks adjacent units. This would mimic aircraft loitering ...
