I would also be good with that - it's good to be forced out of my comfort zone. In fact, I'd go so far as to be happy with totally random army selection, but I'm guessing most people wouldn't be thrilled with that.
Radical suggestion for a new category of Division :-)

I like it !

Re: First Single Player Playthrough ?

I've found an interesting map on a recent video with full of provinces: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8adN84CKX5Y At minute 24:24 you can see a nice map. Is a pain for my eyes to see Hispania Citerior province in the north west of Spain, but anyway, beautiful view. Nice spot Juanval..... Thanks f...

Re: First Single Player Playthrough ?

All factions  . No problem. I'll wait 2 weeks. One question. How stable is the game on its current version? is it perfectly playable or is better to wait? Even If there are minor bugs I prefer to wait and play solid games, no matter the waiting time. A beta tester would need to answer that...

Re: First Single Player Playthrough ?

Ah...my mistake.

Is there a particular faction you are interested in as I was watching the Iberii playthrough today and the provinces were shown clearly there.

Re: First Single Player Playthrough ?

It would be nice to see a worldmap screenshot with the current provinces that are in the game. For what I've learned from the manual, one of the first things is to conquer enough regions in order to create a province (controlling at least 50% of regions). Can someone post a screenshot? If...

Re: More Videos?

I got the reviewer code just before going on holiday, so I won't be able to get any more vids out for a few more days, (I'm the sod no did poorly as Eperius.) Is there any nation you would like to see played? I also forgot to link my vids here like the idiot I am. Judea? If you speak Italian Yaitz ...

Yep, devoncop has summarised it very well. :)

Besides regions' supply limits and the terrain frontage in battles, there is also the question of maintenance cost for units that can be a limiting factor.

I could do even better at describing it if I had the game

Re: Late Antiquity: winners post your results here . . .

Division B devoncop (Jewish Revolt) beat SpeedyCM (Sassanid 350BC) 62% to 56% In a game I thought I had won by about turn 10 thanks to the fragility of the Sassanid Infantry, Speedy having conserved his armoured horse archers and elephants well from the skirmish assault counter attacked hard and had...

Re: Limit to stack size ?

Hi There is No "artificial" stack limit but there is most definitely a de facto stack limit for sensible players which varies based on the ability of different regions to supply your army with food. Take half a dozen of units of phalanxes and a couple of elephants into a desert province with a small...

Re: Tournament diary and news . . .

Just to let you all know that I am experiencing serious laptop problems at the moment. I have a new one ordered, which should arrive early next week. I hope to be able to do the Sunday round-up as normal provided my current lap tap is able to cope with it all. It's all for a reason Pete....It will ...

I'm up for joining the game.
I'm up for playing as anyone, as I have a pre-release of the game, I'm happy to take a weaker Nation, you know, someone like Rome.

Parthia would be fun though.

I have sent you a PM :-)

I expect I will not use the FOG2 battle system at all. AS for my starting country, Canada seems to be missing for some odd reason so I'll go back a few generations to the Irish
It is a curious thing that the Canadian sack of Rome in 296BCE was glossed over......

Re: First Single Player Playthrough ?

The more I have seen the Empires battle system since my original post then the more I like it to be honest and though others will differ I doubt I will be using FoG2 to play out many battles if any... I agree completely. Watching streamers, I very much like the Empires battle system, and feel that ...

Re: Last few hours to vote in the poll on the new "Allies" feature

I've said it before and I will say it again. I prefer having a few battles in my group where the armies are of similar makeup. Its a better test than facing a horde of skirmishers or a MF army hiding in a patch of woodland every other game. This is exactly my point too Ian. I hear what you say Pete...

Re: Just 1 day left to vote in the poll on the new "Allies" feature

My only slight reservation would be about be about lumping all the Arabs and Indians together. To me that's like saying all the Macedonian successors are one group, and only one could be chosen. I could see lumping Arab city, Bedouin and conquest lists as one set as they are all centered on Arabia....

Re: War Declaration 're Client States

Not for now, you can only give cash to a client state. But a client state can relinquish a region which is surrounded by 3+ regions of his protector (or even adjacent to a region of his protector, if it is also one of the protector objective). Supply sharing is done between allies and client states...

Re: War Declaration 're Client States

Is it possible to gift a Client State a region rather than cash ?😏 I know this would not be common but it would presumably improve relations and may also consolidate territory more rationally on occasion if it involved a less valuable non objective region that had been conquered to avoid the ongoing...

Wow! Thanks, Devoncop.

No problem.

All of the players are learning and don't understand some of the mechanics but I still pick up some useful nfo from the playthroughs and hopefully you do too.
