Re: Tournament handicaps for armies/terrain

Correct but that is because the rules haven't stabilised yet. For example shooting was downgraded after the first season. Once the rules do stabilise the grading of armies will become obvious as it did in FOG1. Vakarr's idea of then letting low graded opponents pick the terrain against higher grade...

Re: Huge negative critics on Imperator:Rome

No,infact,I think,it's a good thing to our's Fog :E,because the Imperator:Rome is a huge competitor of the Fog:E,if more people feels disappointed, then more people will come to buy the Fog:E,looking for replace the Imperator,it's a big chance to this game. Agree complely. Also there will be a very ...

Re: Huge negative critics on Imperator:Rome

I have huge anticipation for FoG Empires but also decided to jump into Imperator. All I will say is that most of the criticism comes from people who appear to have technical problems ....often due to their own pc set ups or people who have failed to understand the most basic mechanics of the game. I...

Re: Provisional outline for the Themed Event in Season 5

Really nice selection and I will certainly be giving the themed event a go this time as I like the armies involved (though the poor old Thracians are likely to have a very hard time !)

Not disagreeing on the underlying concept, but determining army ranking for tournaments seems kind of.......subjective.
I agree.

Look at the winning armies in seasons 1-4 in the FOG Digital League.

Very varied.

Re: Field of Glory: Empires - The Challenge has been accepted

I know players have mentioned but its not the same as looking at one I just want to see how the minor details work through FoG2 like general stats(+2 attack), frontage, units joining battle, how are the units scale down or up. The battle alone is not significant. Fair enough. Frontage is not carrie...

Re: Field of Glory: Empires - The Challenge has been accepted

Still NO battles resolved through FoG2.... such a shame (are you trying to hide something?) Players have mentioned they have resolved some battles without problems in the FOG2 system. As we are all familiar with the FOG2 mechanics to see a long battle played out in the FOG2 system would teach us no...

Re: Unit availability question

Thanks, that is very clear.

Are there any qualitative advantage for units like Cretan Archers over Velites for example if the battle is played out on the strategic map within the Empires system rather than exported to FoG2 ?

Unit availability question

Whilst I understand that certain units will be region specific such as Cretan Archers, in the case of more generic units are they available to all factions ? I ask this because in the excellent Dastactic You Tube series in the conquer Italy challenge he built several archery ranges in different prov...

Re: Problem of Byzantine complexity.....

They have six of each but the Byzantine Cav is largely armoured and to get close enough to start causing meaningful casualties exposes them to be ridden down and routed. The Byzantine massed archers are also pretty deadly to skirmishers and the bow armed lancers and flankers also cause a lot of dama...

Re: AI on the campaign map

yes, I've actually been completely beaten by the AI in some tests, in others mere survival is all you can hope for in a serious war. I have had epic test games where simply just hanging in was all I could do or had to constantly march to face off a new enemy - genuinely 'just one more turn' stuff. ...

Re: Field of Glory: Empires Dev Diary #6 - Culture and Decadence

The decadence and culture mechanisms seem likely to give good feel and lots of possible mechanisms. Does the system encompass the long stability of Sparta under a rather totalitarian approach focused on maintaining itself as a static society and an active power.power? Are the successful tools of em...

Indeed so. Great tournament. Thanks to my opponents.

The traditional devoncop place in the middle of Division B in splendid mediocrity has once again been reserved needless to say for next season :D
