While we can all say that historical match ups are the preference and many prefer playing them, that is fine but the fact is FOGR (as many ancient and medieval sets do) covers a large period of time and allow you to play between non historical opponents. The rule changes have to cater for this. Also...

I think Camel should be extra points for the ability to disorder. I think the current points value is about right for them. On bows I think the range should be 3" as I said on the other thread, I think the points should stay the same. If superior unarmoured camels with light lance stayed at 13 point...

I think definitely their extra mobility up to 6" is worth a point. I am very against reducing dragoons points as I still think they are useful. They were far too powerful before.

Seriously though I don't see it will be that devastating to bow. It means against a warrior unit they will get 2 long range shots and 1 short range shot as opposed to 1 long range and 2 short range. I am still of the opinion that (foot) bows should have a short range of 3". I think there are two issues, while the bow death roll penalty might say they should have a longer range the interaction between bow and arquebus, or bow and musket means they have a great advantage. On the basis I generally only ever use 1 BG of CS at 800 it probably makes little difference. It will make quite a big difference at 700 points for 25mm armies where CS is used to bulk out the BGs and the reduction in mtd costs won't help as most people use minimum anyway. I think I prefer the 3/2/1 option on the mtd weapons. I do agree with Ben that I would ditch the +4 for Swedish brigades. I have never understood what you are paying for, you pay for the extra pike base anyway and lost counting as armoured for long range.
