Re: New FOGII (April 2018) Campaign Tournament (bbogensc)

I think the issue is solved by being consistent with timing of the strategic phase so there is not an advancement, even if battles are resolved. That way, players know the cadence of the game and then it becomes appropriate to have some sort of "Automatic assumptions" as paul suggests if a player do...

Re: Auto-evasion

Thanks for the follow up. Appreciate you going to olympus to fathom the will of Zeus, Apollo, Ares and others. In the end, it is good there is fortune in the game. Just frustrating when it goes against me :).

Re: Auto-evasion

Thanks Kabill,

There was one tile between the slingers and the Cav and plenty of room to run. Thanks for sharing your formula, helps.

Re: Auto-evasion

Personally I think leaving that unknown, as "fog-of-war" is a better game mechanism. The unknown should exist in the random element of the result, rather than a lack of knowledge of how evade mechanics work. I am heavily in agreement with this statement. A dedicated player if they so choose could p...

Re: New FOGII (April 2018) Campaign Tournament (bbogensc)

Sorry, is not a contradiction. The tiebreak rule covers ties. The battle rules cover battles. As a result of winning the tie last turn, you have more armies than anyone else in the game right now, and 4 provinces. I read it as a contradiction because your battle rules quite clearly state the winner...

Re: New FOGII (April 2018) Campaign Tournament (bbogensc)

Yes you can an I did so for my fight vs. bbogensc. Still i think specificity would be good and suggest that map sizes be added the force size info for clarity. (plus a note that they can be adjusted in the advance options)

Re: Note on Terrain

Neutral players are NOT required to suicide into heavy infantry formations in this campaign/tournament because of terrain. The Attacker attacks and needs to win to capture a province in 24 turns. That is the game. As I learned against Arabia last turn, its not always easy against a human opponent a...

I was suggesting 50 for the sake of an example. To me it is the option that is important. I defer to your expertise with the specifics.

Thanks.

Re: Field of Glory II Tournament Suggestions

the Dacians players have every incentive to hide in it and just hope the Roman player blunders into a strategic fail of some sort. I have begun to experience this type of play from my opponents. To me, this is playing not to lose rather than playing to win. While I understand this decision, it is o...

Re: The Rally Point

I found that my game improved when I became more patient. I like this advice but I am contradicted when I see situations where bold action appears to be needed. The maxim "get there firstest with the mostest" comes to mind when I see terrain that I deem necessary to hold to gain an advantage. With ...
