Re: Archers too weak

So, I think the discussion go far away from the topic. Let the 'longbow' dispute alone and tell me why archers can't fire behind first enemy unit on a flat terrain ! Sorry, it's plain stupid and mostly, unhistorical. I think you will have to provide some actual historical evidence that it is unhist...

Re: What do you hope to see added before Fog II ends?

I feel the upcoming version 1.5.19 addressed it well. Not the pinning issue. They can now (auto) disengaged when odds are unfavorable but are still easily pinned by another diagonally facing infantry unit. That hasn't changed. But they can get disengaged one turn after that they changed their facin...

Re: ZOCs blocking break-offs.

Is there a parallel universe for some FOG2 players? ZOC doesn't work properly anymore and you are discussing ignoring ZOC's when cavalry break off. Where are you getting this info? ZOC (when a unit is in multiple enemy ZOCs) is working as intended, as was explained last time you brought up the issu...

Good communication from the designers.
We are reading and taking note of all of the suggestions, and I have started a new thread about the break-off issue - I did not reply in this thread to avoid the discussion being divided between two threads.

ZOCs blocking break-offs.

No version of fog ( computer or tabletop) allowed voluntary break offs ( maybe p&s tabletop did?). I agree that Cavalry is too easily pinned by mere infantry and would love to see it addressed somehow... I feel the upcoming version 1.5.19 addressed it well. Not the pinning issue. They can now (auto...

Re: Fatal Application Exit

In the meantime, the workaround is that if you have played or loaded another campaign, you should close the game and restart it before starting a new sandbox campaign. [The issue occurs if the AI side in the previous campaign used an ally, and then the new campaign setup cannot find a valid ally for...

Re: Fatal Application Exit

Hi, first time i have seen it. I usually end a campaign with "Accept" so this was unusual. I could not remember which enemy i had been fighting so loaded the last save to see who it was then went via Esc to start a new campaign. We shall certainly look into it. However, if it happens again, or you ...

Re: Fatal Application Exit

Great, many thanks, that should help us to track down the bug.

Has this happened just with this one saved campaign, or can you make it happen with other campaigns?

Has it only happened on the last battle of a campaign?

Re: medium spears cost the same as hoplites?

Your average barbarian mountain man now seems to be a 100% swordsman (having previously only been light spear armed) so the peltasts should go the same way or something else done to distinguish their mode of fighting. As far as I am aware most if not all of the ones that were light spear only are n...

Re: Fatal Application Exit

Thanks. I have not so far been able to reproduce this - perhaps it depends on the specific saved campaign. Please could you package the game save in a .zip file, which you should be able to attach as an attachment in the forum. The easiest way to identify which is the correct save file is to load it...

Re: What do you hope to see added before Fog II ends?

I might be mistaken, but it has seemed to me that I can get heavier units more forward sometimes by chasing evading skirmishers than simply marching. Of course, we have people here like Mike and Chris who would set up tests and statistics, but there may be an exploit in there somewhere. Hardly an e...

Re: A question and a clarification needed

I think that medium foot still has a penalty to cohesion tests because the fight is on open terrain. However the heavy foot is disordered so it i easier to not to lose against it. No, because the combat does not count as "in open terrain" if either unit is in non-open terrain. Does that also apply ...
