Excellent!
Looking forward to the Baggage and LoS changes as well.

Where, o' where, is the 1.2.7 patch?
Just to dampen down anarchy.
In a current Issus battle had Alexander ride off into the blue yonder and then a goodly number of the Phalanx decided to have a go by themselves.
As it stands, way too unpredictable.

The roadmap looks excellent - can only add to what is already a superb game. The anarchy change should certainly have an impact. I'm pleased to see the planned AI improvements. As far as deployment goes, I hope that there will be some randomisation i.e. rather than always three groups with a leader ...

deeter is correct, they were Galloglaich Nobles and I was indeed very lucky to K.O. his general as a result. (in the same turn a cavalry unit of mine broke off.....right up to deeters camp and immediately captured it - a bit cheeky, that) But lucky as the charge proved to be, an inspired leader ough...

Berto, like you I preferred solo to PBEM in most games but the FoG system has totally converted me. It is so easy to play and you will meet players better than you and worse than you; a bit of banter and you will win some and lose some. It is like having a very diverse AI and a load of fun. I,too, l...

Perhaps anarchy charging could be more closely linked to a BGs proximity, or otherwise, to other friendly BGs. This could involve a modifier, in the CMT, of, say, +1 for being adjacent to a friendly BG and +2 for being adjacent to two or more friendly BGs (but only if said BGs were no worse than dis...

I would agree that it was the only logical path. Having retreated one hex, although it met a friendly BG, it was still in contact with enemy BGs so needed to keep going. The next clear space would have kept it in contact with an enemy BG, so it continued in a straight line until another clear hex co...

Some good arguments being put forward to support my feeling that the English army, with its primary component of longbowmen, is under-represented. I tend to agree that upgrading to superior is not the answer within the current format, as it distorts the melee value. However something along the lines...

Without change, the English army is effectively emasculated. I disagree - with proper use of terrain, the English army is still a highly effective unit. I called SRW an English apologist above, but I think it bears repeating. The English longbow, while an effective tactic, is often times over romat...

Hey Jim, I still think the key is what made the English superior in many of these battles was really how they used their army and the shear #'s of bowmen. The longbow, although powerful, was not a secret weapon and other countries used it as well... The problem that these countries had is they were...

My purpose in starting this thread was less to start a Swiss-bashing debate than to find a way to promote the English longbow man to his correct historical position and, in consequence, allow the English army to be the extremely viable and highly regarded entity that it was. This can only be achieve...

I'm not playing the nationalist card here, because I'm Irish, but rating the English Longbowman 'average', compared to a 'superior' cuckoo-clocker (no disrespect to any Swiss in the house) seems wrong to me. No doubt some one will tell me that is how it is in the TT rules but, that being the case, I...

Are English Longbowmen underpowered?
The English archer in this period of history was pretty much at the top of his game, comparatively. And yet, for the most part only rated average, he has no real advantage over any other archers and cannot, under almost any circumstances, produce anything akin to an arrow storm. With, usually only a...
