Re: Panzer Corps 2 damage mechanics
In general, initiative does not affect your damage output unless you have a very low initiative, but it does reduce the damage of return fire when you have higher initiative. This isn't really the case. Attacking units of equal (or higher) initiative can cause a huge drop in your damage output, as ...

Re: The Verdeja tank drives me nuts
This a good tank.
Speed 6 and decent stats. But it's the slot cost that's just amazing (2 base w/pg). Str 20 with consolidator for 6 slots is good enough to still see use in 43 as a supporting/sweeper tank.

Re: Retreat needs patching
Maybe i'm just paranoid or Prejudiced …. but!, rightly or wrongly... i'm getting the impression that the AI seems to almost always retreat to it's own lines... while the Players units seem to most of the time retreat towards the Enemy or its zones of control!. Exactly my impression too. AI units re...

Re: Retreat needs patching
If your units retreat into unfavorable terrain it's because you're overextending and not supporting them properly.
Instead of focusing on (well known by now) game mechanics, focus on how to avoid setting yourself up for unfavorable retreats.
Problem solved.

Literally right in front of you: hex grid coordinates are listed under terrain type of each hex.

Re: Retreat needs patching
Retreat abides by VERY strict rules.
I suggest trying out the puzzle scenarios.
They will teach you all about retreats.

Re: AO43 both campaigns finished - some feedback (and questions)
Once again, I really appreciate all the options and traits you can choose. I tried several things out, my problem is the traits are not very well balanced (depending on the year!) and are too extreme. Like "deny artillery", you get 3 points for that and with some experience and good core ...

Re: 1943's First Scenario
As usual the briefings are loaded with fluff and has precious little in the way of... briefing.
Also, what is a "narrative objective"? It's not explained anywhere. I also don't understand what "Ignore forces" might entail.
Not a good start.

Re: Favorite or Best DLC so Far?
In the order so far. 1. AO1941 - Best variety of missions and a really long set of different scenarios. 2. AO1940 - Very creative approach towards fictional UK invasion, again a lot of missions and various theaters, tough to beat nemesis to fight multiple times. 3. SCW - A part of the war not yet c...

Re: Husky Assault MP questions
Hi all, I'm having issues with some of the co-op scenarios during play with a buddy. During Husky, we've taken Gela, Licata, and the supply dump north of Licata and not gotten any reinforcements. I've looked at the lua script for the scenario and see that we were supposed to get several units and p...

Re: SCW Ebro - need ideas
Hi All, I restarted the entire campaign on Colonel difficulty and try to achieve all bonus objects. It´s the most challenging at Ebro. I read through the thread and it seems the best strategy is to raid the other side of the river starting from the north and move forward to the central part to elim...

Re: Brighton (Turn 6)_Seelowe-2nd Scenario:
Quite like the Sealion 40 scenarios. It's a nice little story arc that ends in humiliation regardless of what you do. I far prefer this approach to the sameness of the Eastern Front, where I take Stalingrad again and again almost without losses yet is always back to the same stupid starting position...

Re: Paratroopers won't work
That's bc the para rules changed since the puzzle was made... Now you cannot move and drop in the same turn. You must move, then drop. Making this puzzle impossible. If you want to play it, open rules.json and add the following to the top of the json "paratrooper_rules" : 1, Restart scenar...
