Re: Points costs, revised proposals
Thanks Kevin. I agree that DH should be more expensive as they have advantages but I think 3pts a base is too much. It is margins but I think 18pts a base is about right.

Re: Points costs, revised proposals
I am inclined to agree on the points for 2 dice cavalry. 19pts for an armoured sup pi/pi det horse v 16pts for a heavily armoured sup cuirassier still I think favours the cuirassier too much. Evens at impact and in melee but the det horse losing its reroll. I think 18pts would be about right. Others...

Re: Updates - where we are at
I agree! Essentially reverting to the old points means we have done nothing to deal with the weakness of det horse, so we will go back to no one using them unless they have too!

Re: Updates - where we are at
We do need this sorted and finalised as soon as possible. I am happy with everything save the points cost. I would keep the reduction in costs for det horse, cavaliers and gendarmes. I would keep the changes in mtd weapon costs. I would not adjust any other mtd points cost save for a surcharge for c...

Don't need amendments for that! I think the ones giving a built in penalty to Aussies are the best...

Re: Bows
Not sure what the answer is here as we have a split camp on the short range for bow.

Re: Proposals summary for playtesting
Overall from way of the warrior:
Really didn't find the warrior v reduction of bow short range caused any issues.
Really liked the armour interaction, gives a better balance and the more I play with it the less fiddly it becomes.
Finally really need to reduce naval unit points cost!

Re: Bows
I agree with Ben on this, in period I have not found issues with the bow range being reduced.

Re: Proposals summary for playtesting
Personally I would not drop the base cost of cavalry, horse, light horse, I think the weapon cost reductions work on their own.

Re: Proposals summary for playtesting
I don't have a problem with that. It would also get rid of the query on warrior v bow.

Re: Proposals summary for playtesting
Sorry I didn't make clear that it was only if unsteady they need a CMT to charge. However I think this is unduly penal to troop types, for example tibetan cavalry who are bow* but light lance, they need a 9 to charge if unsteady. The issue is that unless you go through all the lists on a case by cas...

Re: Proposals summary for playtesting
I have now played two tournaments with the new amendments, 3 games of ecw and 5 of Indian. My thoughts are: 1. I don't agree with the previous comments about dragoons. I think the new rules work and think dragoons are now used more carefully either to fight other dragoons or as supporting troops. 2....
