Well... I would like to tell you what to expect in Russia. But some sketchy ethics concerns prohibit dropping a spoiler. I hope you do better than me. My African drive for oil met with a simliar lost two pz, Two German mech, and all of my Italians originally there.

Kill them! all I can do is tell you what I did Once I knew he was committed to a max BEF I did the following: 1. grind forward killing them (use Italian's when activated - they will be key for Sealion) 2. sub's concentrate on RN 3. probe UK City Port's with GAR (he then has to build more GAR to Gar...

I would really go for a solution valid both for "BEF garrison blob" issue but for another scenarios and/or years. I don't think our group has yet come to a consensus that this is indeed an issue. It sounds that richardsd has come up with an effective counter to it. Perhaps he'd share it w...

Stopping GAR exploitation

Perhaps the original designers foresaw exploitation of GARs, and that is why they didn't allow them to be Transportable by sea. Why would the US need to transport GAR's by sea? No real reason. Corps are the offensive unit of the game...except for Para's. Why would GB need to transport GAR's by sea? ...

Again, I'd like to draw attention to the exploitability of this kind of change. turn 1: Germany attacks Oslo. Troops ashore. GAR's heading for Trondheim and Bergen. The one naval unit providing supply must be protected by almost all of the rest. Air attacks happen on Oslo GAR. turn 1: British home g...

This same thing happened to me in my first PBEM game against Morris. Because I saw that he had brought the British GAR's to France, I did Sealion concurrent with the latter stages of Case yellow. I had destroyed most of the RN available in the North (so, the Med units started to appear), The entire ...

The biggest problem in voting for this is that once the Axis player has either isolated or taken Leningrad, his defence line ANYWHERE is augmented by these corps. Is there a way this can be determined by map location?

The Finns just weren't that into expanding their borders deep into the USSR.

I think we need to put a stop to some of the gamey stuff that some guys are up to i.e., moving the Famagusta Gar and British HG units to France. I would like to see these units locked into place (like those troops in the MED) until a viable event like a landing on British soil occurs. Home Guard mea...

I don't think adding cities to Norway is necessary. I vote no.

I agree they get stomped pretty easily. But I'd hate to see them boosted then end up next to Moscow. The Finns really had no interest in going into Leningrad and beyond. Perhaps a possible solution would be for Mannerheim to come on as a replacement as soon as the Russians move west of a certain poi...

Now that we've opened Pandora's box with Spain and Turkey, perhaps this wouldn't be a bad option. However, they should be liberateable if they've been taken by the Soviets. No need for all ppl playing Axis to repeat the evil errors of WWII.

One of the main points was that these convoys CANNOT be adjacent to land. But after further thought, there need to be two kinds. One kind that transfers from port to port in a non-combat situation (say Taranto to Tobruk for instance). Another that supplies the invaders and is ships at sea who are fe...

Is this do-able?

I know we're all keenly waiting on the newest mod. But from what I've seen, changing weather patterns, changing joining dates, making officers cheaper, etc... won't really change the fundamental problem of this game. That problem is the supply system. It's too abstract. Sealion is so much easier in ...

Officers

Respectfully, many officers never see the light of day in this game. Who would buy a Budenny, right? But this is the kind of stuff political leaders had to deal with. Is it possible that we could consider not having to buy them? Instead, receiving them as reinforcements at a time near when they rose...

Ok, I've found four players across the planet willing to pwn/school/flog me into submission. I've already seen France fall with amazing speed (quicker than I ever did against the AI), and all I got to show for it was 7-steps off a PZKorps.

Thank you for your attention.

Seeking PBEM opponents for v 1.07

I seek 3 or 4 dedicated opponents. By dedicated, I mean at least one turn per day. Will play either side. FOW a must. No random research. The rest, optional.

My skill level? Have been wargaming for years. History buff. Find the AI boring.

Hit me with a PM if you're interested.

curiousity: Canada not at war with Germany at start of 1940

Canada entered the war on the side of the Allies one week after Britain and France DOW'ed Germany in 1939. Is there a particular reason for this not being the case in the GS?
