Re: Some suggestions
Thanks Erik. I wasn't aware all naval units could repair at the 3 or less level. About my suggestion 6, if the designers want a historically correct scenario, then they should limit the units available to those actually there and not give you a choice. If you have the choice to select a carrier, it'...

Re: Some suggestions
Couple more suggestions: 6) When buying a carrier to add to scenario, it should come with plane command points equal to the carrier's plane capacity (fleet carriers, with 3 planes/squadrons, would automatically add 9 plane command points to the scenario). Or alternatively, carriers might be purchase...

Re: Some suggestions
Yes, my mistake, I meant 10/15 RPs not 1. They 1 would be for the Command Points needed. Thus by sacrificing 1 combat infantry, you could purchase 3 garrison units.

Re: The brains behind the game and campaign scenarios?
My kudos as well. The game is quick to pick up, but difficult to master. And the AI is better than almost any other I've played. Get the crashes, freezes, and various onscreen artifacts fixed and this is a game I'll be buying scenarios for a long time.

Re: Some suggestions
Regarding bebro's post. I agree, some of the improved units, particularly armor, are not easily upgradable by the method I've suggested. But most planes were superseded by improved models (Wildcat by Hellcat, Dauntless by Helldiver, Devastator by Avenger, etc), ships by year designation (which mostl...

Re: Some suggestions
1) In all the late US scenarios (Leyte, Okinawa, Tokyo) I've had to spend hundreds of points to upgrade units to their appropriate year (42 units to 44, early model armor/planes/ships to late model, etc). Leaves virtually nothing to buy some extra armor or planes, let alone heal units. The US never ...

Some suggestions
After playing for awhile, I have a number of suggestions I like to see implemented. Now I realize some sort of competitive balance must be maintained. However, some of this leads to very unrealistic scenario situations. 1) Units that carry over to later scenarios should be automatically upgraded to ...

Re: Bunkers
Elite replacements!?! Most bunker troops were about as far from elite as you can get. They tended to be green recruits, overaged home guard types, ofttimes physically unfit, in other words, those not qualified to be real combat troops. The Germans used lots of Osttruppen, usually Russian prisoners of...

Re: Hardly game-breaking but has six legs and two antennae
There are a lot of ghost units in the game. Sometimes moving through them gets rid of them, though I once had one that I shared the same hex with attack me, killed it after I moved away. There is also the plane duplication problem, which can affect both carriers and hangers. It's a particular proble...

Re: Some thoughts about OoB
Yolo911, would that we all were as fortunate as you in having the perfect gaming system. However, out here in the real world many of us are having crashes, freezes, and other problems, which I may add have been acknowledged by adherbal, of The Aristocrats. My system more than meets the specs listed ...

Re: Bunkers
Bunkers and pillboxes are manned by relatively few troops, no more than a couple of machine guns and light artillery pieces with a few guards, at most (certainly less than 50, often no more than a small machine gun team, say 5)). Now it's likely each infantry unit in OoB is a company, battalion, reg...

Re: Some thoughts about OoB
bru888, I agree that the autosave works well, but for a game almost a year old and still retailing for about $40, there are far too many crashes and freezes. Time to set this right. Make the platform stable. The weird, not there till you stop on top of it, unit as far as I can tell (doesn't show up ...

Some thoughts about OoB
This is an interesting and complex game, which I enjoy immensely. That said, it is one of the buggiest games I've ever played. It crashes, or freezes, or gives me a rainbow screen of death at least once or twice a scenario. There is the plane duplication problem mentioned below. Playing Leyte, I've ...

Re: Computer freeze
I have an older monitor and went down (1280 or 1024) not up. The game freezes the whole computer. I have to manually shut down and restart, something I can't remember doing with a game in a long time. Doesn't seem very Mac friendly.

Re: Oddity
So when will this be addressed? Soviet scenario is unplayable with this flaw. How did this make it through beta testing? Weren't any of the beta testers paying attention. I have purchased BA I and II and all scenario packs, but this strikes me as simply sloppy, incomplete beta testing.

Computer freeze
Every time I try to start SH it works till I try to start a game, then I get the first screen (with spaceships leaving a planet and an expository message to the right) and a spinning rainbow wheel forever. Nothing I've tried but manually shutting off my Mac works. Running 10.7.5, 9 GB of ram, 3 GHz ...

The American Stuarts in one of the scenarios talks in English too. Apparently only English speaking Russian crews were used in the lend lease armor units.

The Russian mines don't work against Germans, but drive a Russian unit over them and BOOM! Let's get this fixed, it gives the Germans an advantage they shouldn't have.

Re: Unable to download Mac Kursk scenarios
Alright, finally got the scenarios to work. But if you are going to make games for the Mac, please make them Mac friendly. My problem was I was double-clicking on a scenario to open, as virtually all Mac programs work. This brought up a message that I needed to download the scenarios. Thus I assumed...
