randomly focused

Hello,

If one chooses the random research option at game setup, is there any point to expending focus points on particular areas of research? On the face of it I would think no, but...

Help with Italy

As I'm still fairly new to PBEM, I'm finding Italy a challenge and could use some advice. I'm finding that rather than being a contributor to the Axis war effort, Italy exists in order to defend itself, with all PPs going to cranking out forces to occupy beach hexes in order to hold out for as long ...

I can personally vouch that Shawkhan is a most worthy and wily opponent. Best of luck with and beware the "Wrath of Shawkhan."

KingHunter,

Are these the numbers the game designers use?

A variant of the original question would be to ask how one estimates step loses from the casualty reports. Or do people write them down from turn to turn in order to report them in the "fall of France" thread?

Commander command radius

Would it be possible to be able to select a commander and press a key and have the hexes over which he provides a command bonus show up as a shade of some color? This would make it helpful to determine command radius, and in the case of two or more commanders, where their radiuses may overlap or a g...

I assume you would know if your PBEM axis opponent gave themselves an advantage by seeing that your PPs per turn were reduced (as allies) . You can start a new game vs. the AI as allies with no advantages assigned and compare starting PPs, oil and manpower with the PBEM game to see any differences. ...

Axis advantage in PBEM

From the GS victory stats thread it seems that matching equally skilled players is essential to having a balanced game. And a more balanced game means a more fun game, IMHO. So it would seem appropriate to allow less skilled players some advantage versus more skilled players. Setting aside how one w...

Curious to see how this will turn out. Even more curious as to why you don't invest in general/industry as the Brits. Do you rely on the convoys so that you can prioritize other research spending? Makes sense to me.

I think the answer depends on how effective your opponent is in attacking convoys and troop transports with subs. If so, I'd rather use strategic bombers for anti-sub duty. If limited sub activity, bombs away on oil producing cities first, rail cap and high PP targets second. Being fairly new to thi...

I'm currently playing my first PBEM as allies and would take up your offer if it still stands. Am also playing three games as Axis, none have completed yet, so I'm fairly new at this game, though have played war games for years going back to Avalon Hill's Third Reich board game. You can email me at ...

Fate of allied units when country surrenders

If the British are helping Spain against Germany, and Madrid falls, my understanding from reading the forum posts is that British units stationed in cities survive. What happens to British units not stationed in Spanish cities? If a fighter is stationed at the Gibraltar airfield, will it disappear w...

Yes it is in the GS mod. Fortunately the game was not too far along.

Good to know that one password will work for all games.

PBEM password

I've forgot the password I created for one of my PBEM games. Is it saved anywhere in the game folders? I've looked in the obvious places, like the data folder, but do not see anything to indicate storage of passwords.

Regards.

I decided to install 1.04 on one computer, and 1.02 on another. Reason I asked in the first place is that like Supermax I have an ongoing game and my esteemed opponent elects not to upgrade. So while I understand the check sum error message, I'm honoring my opponent's request. Still curious as to wh...
