Re: There Can Be Only One Tournament III! Round 1

Cheers Aetius.

Can I confirm that though it is not laid out above, as per the PM you sent out, the only choices the Romano British player will have are either Northern European Agricultural or Hilly maps ?

Just checking .....

All the best

Re: LOEG Early Classical Antiquity Division B - Results

Pod D (East) devoncop ( Persians) beat Dragmio ( Ptolemaics) 60-20 Points : devoncop = 100 Dragmio = 20 The Persian bows were able to shred the supporting Ptolemaic lights and elephants before the now isolated phalanx was able to crush too many of the Persian bowmen. Thanks to my opponent for a spor...

Re: LEOG Early Classical Antiquity Division B - Results

Pod D (East) devoncop (Achaemenid Persians) beat rexhurley (Moors/Numidians) 60% to 39% devoncop : 81 points rexhurley : 39 points A torrid hail of Javelins on one side and arrows on the other was probably decided with the slightly premature launch of a Moorish ambush and the eventual routing of two...

Re: There Can Be Only One Tournament III! Round 1

First result ! (We may have shot off the starting blocks slightly before Aetius actually fired the starting gun...sorry !) devoncop (Ancient Britons) drew with Rob123 ...52% to 51% .... A topsy turvy contest that the British were only 2% from losing after 7 turns at 41-18 down thanks to a surprise f...

Re: Ever-Green League - 300 BC

Cheers Holien. On reflection I am going to withdraw from this League. I am someone who gets as much satisfaction from forcing an opponent to surrender ( though it rarely happens :D ) but Andreas perfectly understandably wants his scoring system to reward matches that go the distance . Thanks to all ...

Re: Ever-Green League - 300 BC

I know Eric wasn't suggesting MY actions were gamesmanship ...I care not two hoots about points but I was just trying to be fair to Holien who deserved the full points for his performance in suggesting i am happy for him to get all the points. The only reason that he didn't was that I failed to unde...

Re: Ever-Green League - 300 BC

Apologies... My understanding was that my surrender would have been treated ( quite correctly in my view) as a 40-0 win for Holien who was totally demolishing the Carthaginians. It seems wrong for the scoring system to penalise such a dominant performance by only granting him 1pt. Maybe the scoring ...

Re: There Can Be Only One Tournament III! Round 1

The message Aetius sent out Karvon included this passage (if this clarifies things further for you ) Once you know who you are playing against, the person playing the Ancient British will set up this game like so: Large/Wide (1600) Choose between North European Agriculture, North European Hills, or ...

Team 3 and the couple of dodgy chancers in team 10 look pretty formidable from where I am standing. :D
