First feelings, done from memory of the army lists as currently not with my books.

Bob Medcraft/Ben Jones Jurchen 1680 Massed Bowmen with regimental guns supported by good Cavalry and artillery.
Simon LeRay-Meyer/Stephen Stead Hindu Indian 1661AD Depends on whether loads of nellies or Rajputs.
Ray Boyles/Keith Spedding Later Ottoman 1666AD Barricades and lots of Guns a possibility. Infantry OK, lots of shooting and lots of Cavalry
Nigel Phillips/Neil Sidden-Smith Saxony 1690AD Good solid army with regimental guns.
David Baynham/Peter Davis Polish 1673AD Hussar!!! Lots of mounted, good infantry although Polish style susceptible to cavalry.
Fredric Bohm/Fredrik Bodin Kuruc Rebellion 1677AD Could be a load of mounted, a load of foot or a medium combination. Not a pike man in site.
Nik Gaukroger Austrian 1697AD Good solid choice, with regimental guns, but no Bayonets.
Steve Holt/Chris Talbot Anglo-Dutch 1689AD Possibility lots of Superiors and regimental guns. Do they have some swedes as well.
Simon Green/Paul Freeman Austrian 1690AD Good solid choice, with regimental guns, but no Bayonets.
Wayne Charlton/Lynnette Maxim Later Swedish 1676AD Once they get there will be a problem, could have lots of superiors but knowing Lynnette will be a big army of average set up so Average could be Musket not Salvo.
Ian Wilson/Richard Bason Anglo-Dutch 1690AD Lots of Superiors and regimental guns. Do they have some swedes as well.
Jason Dawson/Phil Murfin Louis XIV French 1690AD Very good cavalry but unarmored, may be impact mtd, impact foot.
Clive Holland/David Elks Tuareg 1666AD Loads of unarmored Superior Camels, supported by impact foot.
Peter Alexander/Rob Mckay Iroquois 1660AD Loads of impact foot, only half muskets, susceptible to mounted. Interesting choice.

What I really like is the mix, only 2 duplicates out of 14. so 12 different armies, includes 7 Europe, 1 Africa, 1 Americas as well as 2 Asia. And then there is the Ottomans spanning Asia, Europe, Africa

Agreed, a nice mix - should be fun :-)

I had hoped to find time to paint up enough to be able to field a Later Russian, but alas it didn't happen :(

Not quite true. What you cannot have are reg guns with bayonets in the same BG and you will have at least 2 infantry BGs without bayonets. But you can have quite a lot of foot with bayonets :D

I would endorse Nik's thanks to the Burton Club for a very well organised and friendly competition.

Ben and I would like to thank our four opponents - Simon LeRay-Meyer/Stephen Stead with their nmassive Hindu Indian army with more elephants than you could count, the two Fredric/k's who had terrible die rolls against us, Steve Holt/Chris Talbot who did not take advange of Ben's poor die rolling and finally Clive Holland/David Elks who just got their deployment wrong.
