I think I will be able to come up with some ideas over the weekend... The few things I know already would be to add HW infantry (with those Maxim machineguns on those wheeled carriages), and another idea is to make the 76.2mm artillery switchable (there are separate Antitank and Artillery versions already, so this is very easy to do), although I'm not sure if that will not throw off the balance with some of the existing scenarios.

Perhaps add the T-34 with 57mm gun. I got some other ideas as well, but I'll need to do some research first.

That one would be an excellent tank killer but it lacked a lot when fighting infantry so it wasn't mass produced. But a nice idea.

Machinegun Maxim is not a separate Squad, machinegun armament system was part of the infantry (rifle company).
Maxim had a lot of weight, which created problems with mobility, therefore, were developed and produced in more advanced models of machine guns.

I agree with Lexx_SV. Machinegun Maxim was part of the Soviet infantry. But one of the symbols of the Eastern Front recon Fw 189 (uhu or rama) which greatly annoyed the Soviet troops in the game is not visible. You can add a Tupolev SB bomber that was used in large quantities in the beginning of the war. Gloster Gladiator fighter Finns add.

Russia:
I would like to see the SU-100Y. As a bonus unit for example. Not to buy because it would be too strong.

T-35
SMK
SU 14-2

Hungary:

43M Zrinyi

Aerosani as a transport unit would certainly be intersting.

I put some forward a while ago but have been thinking:

- IS-3
- Yak-11 fighter (came into service late 1946?)

Yak-11 was a two-seat trainer.

If we want to go post-1945, then the following:

La-9
Yak-15
MiG-9

Maybe you're thinking of the post-war La-11, used for example in Korea.

On a general note, regardless of specific types that are going to be added finally: Personally I prefer stuff that made it into service over hypothetical units that barely or never went beyond prototype stage, or just remained paper-projects. Just my 2 cents of course...

Thanks for the comments, maybe I should have explained it better. In the game, the unit scale is not fixed, so it is hard to represent some types of units. In Panzer Corps, most armies have a choice between 'normal' infantry and 'heavy' infantry, which are slower but have better attack values. These heavy infantry units have an icon that shows a heavy machinegun, like a Vickers, MG42 or Browning.

I know that machineguns were distributed among the infantry, but most armies still had 'heavy' support companies in their battailons, equipped with mortars and other crew-served weapons. For the game, the machinegun in the icon is just a symbol to represent their greater firepower; the Soviet equivalent would be the M1910 Maxim, and when it is equipped with the wheeled carriage with the shield it is a very recognizable unit, a very suitable image for such a unit.

Adding HW infantry to the Soviet equipment would give the player a choice between 'normal' and HW infantry, adding more flavour. Now, Soviet infantry lacks a unit that is available for the Germans and the Western Allied armies. When playing multiplayer I frequently miss them when playing as the Soviets.

MBR-2
PBY «Catalina" (Lend Lease)

Finns add fighters

Can we see lend lease weapons in our core? Like an M3 Scout Car, a VERY popular scout car in the early days of the Eastern front. But these stop at around 1943ish as the West stopped suppling massive amount of weapons as the Soivets had enough. So these units can no longer be purchased.

Оf course, you need to distinguish between historical details and gameplay`s details.

In the Red Army before the war and the initial period of the infantry was a single composition, there was no disjunction between "light" and "heavy". Gain, reinforced were at the level of Division.

The only exception is the "separate rifle Brigade", 1940. The three battalions (each battalion to 60-70 more people than usual) with lots of hand-held and stationary machine guns, artillery battalion (mountain battery, a battery of 107-mm artillery shells and 122-mm howitzers. Three batteries of 4 guns each), 8 light tanks Т-26.
That is, it is "reinforced infantry regiment" with artillery and two tank platoons

P.S. This really is a rare entity in the 22.06.41 of the RED ARMY was only five "separate rifle brigades," the 1.01.42 of the Red Army had five "separate rifle brigades" and one Ski Brigade.

So it is, and "Ski Brigade", and "Separate Rifle Brigade" (comparable to the "heavy infantry") is a unique units of Red Army.

Nevertheless standart Soviet infantry battalion was armed with 12 (Maxim machine guns) as well about 30-35 light machine guns DP-27 (Dyagterev) 82mm mortars and 45-mm antitank guns as well as ptrs-41 (ptrd-41).
P.S. but the number of infantry weapons of the Red Army did not always correspond to reality, and often depended on the situation.

Will we command Polish, and Russian Partisans? As well as fighting them, as historically in Ukraine, the same Partisans who fought the Germans, began to fight the Soviets. Can't blame them as both Hitler and his SS, and Stalin and his NKVD. Can't tell you which one Is worse. The SS give you a horrible yet quick death, the NKVD make you work in sub zero temperatures until you drop dead....

OK, I'll add some ideas, but it is quite difficult, as a lot of units were produced only in very small numbers, and I don't like too many 'what-if' models. But since there was a request for suggestions and upgrade paths for units in some specific classes (early self-propelled artillery, etc.), I had to get creative. Since I write a lot, I will use several posts to keep it manageable.

(SE) Infantry

Still on my wish list, some Soviet 'HW' infantry.

Perhaps a nice SE unit would be the elite 'Razvedchik' (Разведчики, scouts), which had camouflaged uniforms ('amoeba' pattern seems commonly mentioned). They often operated behind enemy lines, so they would be comparable to the British SAS SE infantry units?

Image

Seen here, a Razvedchik scout (left) meeting with partisans.

SE Tanks

Speaking of SE units, I have an idea: some Soviet tanks were built with extra armour plates added to the hull and turret, so-called 'Ehkranami' models (I've come across the phrases 'с экранами'/'экранированных' : 'with screens'/'shielded'). This might help distinguish SE tanks and give them a better chance of survival, which might be a more appropiate bonus than extra firepower (like the German SE tanks).

I've found that uparmoured versions were built of the BT-7, T-26, T-28, T-34 and KV-1.

The regular tanks might benefit from some attention as well, but I'll continue with those later.

Это не тяжелая пехота.
Это бойцы штурмового инженерно-сапёрного батальона.
В игре это пионеры 43.

It's not heavy infantry.
This fighters assault engineer battalion.
In this game the Pioneers 43.
