GC West '44 Not Core Loading from East '43?

Post by MaxF »

Finished East '43, I wanted to make a journey off the steppes, in Italy and France.
The game isn't asking me whether I wish to upload my core units from the last campaing !
I assume that I could upload only a Core frome the West ''43?? Since In real life I couldn't move all my army from Ukraine to Italy?
Yet I read that "you can upload your previous..."

Thank You

Not a problem, I like a new challenge. Generals could be moved and see assigned a new army :)

Check Nico's work

If there isn't currently a fix for importing 42west into 43 east he can probably make one.

Actually there is a simple way to do it.
Edit the campaign.pzdat in GC 44W.

Replace the string:
{38266DE9-3C9A-490c-9574-47F9246268EC}
with:
{96EB22F4-7748-4c86-8A75-CDD59AA6227E}

There comes a time on every project when it is time to shoot the engineer and ship the damn thing.

Import a DLC43E army core into DLC44W
Core 43E into 44W.rar
GC44W campaign.pzdat
(1.15 KiB) Downloaded 109 times
Extract and overwrite the campaign.pzdat file in the folder Slitherine/panzer corps/DLC/GC44West
Backup the vanilla campaign.pzdat file first in that folder!

Keep in mind that this will make the campaign much, much easier than it's designed for. You'll essentially have unlimited prestige in addition to a massive and experienced core and believe me; you don't need it.

The West campaign branch is balanced for only 13 core units imported and a prestige reset going into it, which is just a single DLC before '44 West.

Thank You all for the answers.

If it would make it too easy then I'm not so interested --- though it may be of interest for other players so I'm glad I higlighted this issue for all.

I understand that realistically it would be very difficult to move divisions from East to West --- although happened that some were actually moved.

Another thing I'd consider is that the type of units needed in the West could be different from the ones needed in the East. For example in the West I think that I would need more Foke Wulfs. And more Infantry (?)

I think I will buy the GC West 42-43. To do the whole West with its own core. Can I load the core from the GC 41 in there?

I agree with that !
The West Campaign is very different than the East C. But I like it more because the Scenarios are smaller and Not as repetitive.

But since it seems to be just a little tinkering with the Campaign.dat File to make it Work, how about doing it the other way ?
Trying to go East in '44 with a Western Core seems to be a nice Challenge for our Users with a sound masochistic touch. :mrgreen:

Would be interesting to see if it's possible at all. And for those who even dare to tackle the Ultimate Difficulty Level a real daunting Task how High they can go in a West-East switch.

Back to the opening post; it's also written in the Campaign Tree that the core is saved for the GC East 44:
