Duration of scenario is 22 turns. Reinforcements came at turn 9 earliest. How fast should they came not to be too late? They use dynamic trigger and their arrival depends on players actions. Those who use advices from the briefing will get them earlier. Those who don't because they want to try different approach can use their own approach but they need to put this difference in playing experience into consideration.

Given that it is a dynamic trigger, I think it is probably OK as is.

The player has to learn to read & assimilate the mission briefing! :lol:

Perhaps link some prestige to retaking of ground on the counter offensive, so that the player has an improved option to repair damaged units?

Well prestige works as in any other scenario so if you have problems repairing it should be the case with other scenarios too, no? Also reinforcements can take part of casualties on themselves.

Not exactly.

As the scenarios are dynamic, with changing priorities, the retaking of selected objectives could add prestige.

If most find it is superfluous, then fair enough.

I am doing OK once I restarted the scenario & understood better what the priorities were.

Played twice on Colonel. I did not deploy all my units immediately and placed the final ones at the end of turn 1, a 'gamey' move but it was necessary because of two SE units so I expoited the situation to get more units where I thought I needed them. This enabled me both times to have more forces attacking El Agheila faster, so I captured it once on turn 5 and the next game on turn 4. Sandstorms can be a double-edged sword, so I think they are just right, I really like the new weather conditions, gives better replayability and less dependance on air power.

Noticed that I got three extra core units with the reinforcements, all three with two stars and a hero? Ba-65 with +3 attack, a M40 da 75/18 with +1 movement, and another one with +5 attack! Nice presents.
