I played a few scenarios to try out a video recorder.

These (3) tanks, which will be upgraded, should be the very last that you acquire (other than captured, gifted).
Tank destroyers and tank destroyers only can stand up to German heavies (AGGRESSIVE spotting required), backed up with artillery as often as possible.
I know, i created the US campaign. We'll see how it goes.
You can bounce this to another part of the PC forum if you'd like but players should know there a several ahistorical and unbalanced components in US Corps, such as M4 Sherman (all models) tanks (way way outnumbered Allied tank destroyers) being ineffective and taking extremely heavy losses against German armor or P-51s being mostly worthless, and too expensive to upgrade to with experienced P-47 drivers, amongst others (Kamikaze elite heavy panzer groups, Wunderwaffe hordes in '44-45, AA seemingly every three hexes, etc.), resulting in prestige burn, repair/replacement starvation and an unsuccessful campaign for very experienced players.

We all learn valuable lessons along the way. Especially in the last DLC, prestige dumps could have been higher and AA less prominent. We all have our grievances about the equipment file but i had to accept the fact from the powers that be, that the e-file is definitive.

Merry Christmas.

Another battle successfully concluded. Once again it is easy to deal with a number of Soviet units who love to park their asses on the river crossings. The battlegroup that is able to sneak up behind enemy lines has its merits and does make things easier., A DV in 19 turns, 30724 PP and no core losses.

Hi Nico,
As you know. I played US corps from start to finish, along with the other testers, I loved the game, it was very hard, prestige was tight especially after 44, but that's what made the game great, If there was loads of prestige it would have been a walk over. Instead you have to think, plan ahead, use your assets to the max and above all be a commander. EVERYONE would have been disappointed if it was just a simple walk through, I have learned that the tactics I use for my German core do not work for a US core and have had to re think what to do. I scrapped all the captured German equipment ASAP and bought American and was able to get to the end and win ! as did my fellow testers. It is about adapting and finding new was to win.

Merry Christmas !

The hazardous mission to shoot down the American planes has been concluded. As i found out, there is no "easy" way to get to the objectives; the northern battlegroup seemed to be better of than the southern one though, but strength point losses are unavoidable. The clue to get to the objectives is to create a safe narrow corridor and not to wander of further than absolutely necessary; this map is full of overstrengthed Soviet units. The armories release AA units upon capture and three of those remain in the core army, especially the 12.8 cm FlaK seems to be a very interesting addition.

The other very very important thing to mention on US Corps amongst the other glaring play imbalances I've mentioned previously is the very very inaccurate combat loss/damage results on "normal" combat randomness settings such as a roll result of -4/-8 for a predicted -1/-7 ground attack for example or air battle such as predicted 0/-6 resulting in -3/-4!!
And I am not talking about a newbie attacking a high level entrenched unit.
Totally exasperating and devastating.
I do not recommend normal setting for anyone but a very experienced player who has the highest level of patience.

Combat predictions havent changed with any of the add-ons that were releases during these years. It is as it is from the start of the release of the game.

I stopped using normal results and switched to dice chess playing Allied Corps and early GC's, before I even had US Corps. Air combat is particularly unpredictable due to the effects of initiative and firing first. As for glaring imbalances I assume you mean the equipment file? I will have some comments on that in my US Corps AAR when I finish 44/45 if you want to debate it then.
