Great mod. But I have a strange problem.
Sometimes when I move a train there is a really horrible nearly painful sound instead of the normal move sound. It`s something in between screeching and hissing. Hard to describe.
I can play the soundfiles directly without any problems. I have this problem for more than a year now. I reinstalled the whole game a few times and I redownloaded your mod a few times too. So I don`t think it`s just a corrupted file or wrong installation. Every other sound from your mod works fine.
It`s not a real big problem, but it gets bothersome to always mute the game when I want to move a train. Thanks in advance if you know anything I could do about it.

Can you tell me which exect sound is?
There are 5 train sounds. Is it Train_3.wav?

Thanks for your reply. I have 6 train sounds. Train and Train_1-5. I guess the first one is just the vanilla sound. If I just play the soundfiles they sound all correct. I can`t say which of these is the problem, as in game this one sound is totally distorted and changed beyond recognition. The noise is a bit like Train_3 just much louder and nasty. It`s really hard to describe what I mean.

Edit: It seems you are right with Train_3. I deleted this sound in the efx file and the problem seems to be gone. Any idea why this one sound is problematic and every other works good? Of course it would be great if you would know a way to get it working with this sound.

It's the encoding of that file. While most systems won't have any problem on dealing with that encoding some might have.
I suggest you to make a copy of one of the other train files and rename as Train_3.wav.

Yeah Ok I´ll do that. So at least I then have three soundfiles. Are there other soundfiles encoded like that which I don`t know off yet? I didn`t find any other problematic ones.

Maybe I am doing something wrong or running too MODS but I get no sound with any of the aircraft in the Afrika Corps games.

I am only running the RSM Redux 1.20a and the PzC_airmod1_22a as mods.

I have patched my game to 1.24 if that matters.

Can the train 3.wav also cause problems down the list?

I think I have an error somewhere in the file that also causes trouble down the line. even 'leg' sound won't play.
If I move those units to the bottom of the file, they work again, but others stop playing.

Like I've explained before, Train_3.wav, might cause some issues on some systems.
I suggest you to make a copy of one of the other train files and rename as Train_3.wav.

I mean, where are the differences between the Sound Files from this MOD and the ones which come with the Stock Game? :?:

More sounds than the vanilla ones.
Most of the movement sounds (and some firing) are accurate, meaning for example that a Tiger tank sound is from a real Tiger tank.

Why more sounds? For which Units? When I play the stock game, each Unit have an own entry in efx file with the corresponding .wav Files. For what also more sounds? :oops:
