Unfortunately no matter how good you play Germany will lose the war. It is the destiny of bighting off more than they can chew, taking on all the Western Allies and the Soviet Union. There is no hope but to finish by going out in a blaze of glory. The reward of winning is only to be able to fight another battle.

I've tied most of the stock scenarios together into one single campaign and so far have added one extra scenario. The campaign starts out in the Spanish Civil War where you are leader of the Condor Legion and with the aid of your Nationalist and Italian allies must retake the town of Brunete from the Republicans. You start out with a core group consisting of the following:

Germans
1 x Pz IA
1 x Sdkfz 221
1 x 3.7cm Pak 36 ATG /towed by Hs 33 truck
1 x 7.5 cm FK 16 nA /towed by Hs 33 truck
1 x Hs 123A tactical bomber
1 x Bf 109B figher
1 x Ju 52/3m strategic bomber
1 x Opel Blitz HQ truck (This is a special nonpurchase/bonus unit you start the war with. If you lose it, it cannot be replaced. It is essentially a "recon" unit and has recon movement and a spotting range of 6-7 hexes. It has virtually no attack or defense values, so it's only use is to see long distances behind enemy lines.

Below is the list of scenarios involved so far.
Hello Gary,

If any of the maps from GTPG/Legacy of Versailles is helpful to your project, feel free to use them.
The start core is definitely very interesting and thanks for sharing the lovely units.
Cheers.

Here are some Spanish Civil War infantry. Basically these are a cut and paste job using vanilla Wehrmacht infantry.

Good to have finally proper units for Spain!
Can you still do desert color variants of the Henschel 33 and Krupp Protze, please?

Yeah, nice work with the Spanish inf. It would be nice to have some more of those in the same style for the other Spanish unit types such as cavalry and maybe a few more. (I am not sure which ones would also be necessary for the Spaniards.)

Actually I'm working on a Polish campaign, but it takes ages and I wouldn't expect the beta stage to be available any time this summer.

Well, if you give me time, I will make a Spanisk unit pack as part of the "Rifleman 39" project, and I will attempt to fill the ranks with a variety of units derived from the basic infantry unit (Engineers, Bridge Eng, HW Inf for example). Those two basic icons looks very good indeed! :-)

Thank you everyone. I'll look into maybe doing a desert version of the Hs 33 and Krupp trucks, depending upon how much time I have. Although if anyone else would like to recolor the Hs 33 and Krupp into desert versions, that would be preferable.

A few more units to round out the Spanish Civil War scenario. All of these are alterations of vanilla units.

Also for this mod I've scaled back the range of all the German artillery units using the sIG 33 to a range of 2 instead of 3.

Quick modification, a Panzer III M with side skirts, ready for the Kursk offensive.

I looks very nice, I'd use it right away if I wouldn't have already guille's version, which is very similar (you two probably had the same idea). Not sure if you were unaware of it, maybe it could have saved you the work. Otoh if you enjoy doing your own this surely shouldn't stop you. Keep up the good job. :)

Indeed, people here asked for it, and I made the conversion... Curiously, I also forgot at first to add the shadow of the long barrel in front of the right image... :-)

Nevetheless, as Bebro said, all this is about FUN... You are free to make/share what you want. By the way, very neat job! :-)

It seemed like a very simple conversion. I just took a PzIIIL barrel and mantle and mated it to a PzIIIM chasis. I guess I should have looked around more first. Would have saved me a little trouble. :o

OK. So I think I'm squared away with new units. I've added a whole bunch of artillery to my mod. Below is a comprehensive list of new units (I don't think I've left anything out):

I am now ready to start working on scenarios. This is my scenario outline so far:

1937
Spain 1 - Brunete
Spain 2 - Teruel
1939
Poland 1
Poland 2
1940
Norway
Low Countries
France 1
France 2
1941
Yugoslavia
Greece
Russia: Frontier battles
Russia: Smolensk
Russia: Kiev/Leningrad
Russia: Moscow
1942
Russia: 6/7/42-7/7/42
Russia: 7/8/42-7/22/42
Russia: 7/23/42-8/1/42
Russia: 8/2/42-11/18/42
1943
Kharkov
Kursk

Anyone have suggestions or tips on how to create a good and challenging scenario? Also, what would be some good battles to feature after Kursk 1943? I want to stay on the Eastern Front until 1944, then switch over to France and Normandy and then end in Germany as a last stand to hold out as long as the player can before getting overrun or something. Campaign will be a German one.

What scale are you going to use? There is Kanev which happened after Kursk.

The scale will be something along the lines of 1 hex = 2 miles +/- to start off with in the Spanish Civil War. It will probably fluctuate from time to time though. Maybe I will increase it to 5 miles +/- per hex when Poland starts.

The unit scale will be 1 unit = 1 Regiment.

I would like to start out the first scenario with a core of about 7 units, including 3 ground, 3 air and my HQ truck. This will represent the "Condor Legion" (although IRL the CL was much smaller than 3 regiments in size I believe). By about half way through the campaign the strength will be up to maybe the strength of an Army with about 2-3 Corps or so.

Kanev might work with your scale. I general use a 1 hex =1 mile scale.

What about unit size? At 1 hex = 1 mile what do you use as the standard for unit size?

I use regiments for infantry and break down tank formations down to battalions.

If you can see this picture. It is a map I have been working on for awhile.

Actually, I created such transport: a Mercedes 3000 in livery of Haberbusch i Schiele brewery. I'm thinking of adding some other brand as well. Any sugestions? :)
