PBEM Server Problems

Post by Kuz »

I am trying to create a new PBEM game. I can select the scenario, select AI and Human control options, I can give it a name and optional password, but then get PBEM error, server error? Is the PBEM server down?

Sorry you are having problems. It all seems fine at the moment. If it happens again can you give us the exact time and your time zone.

Everything is running fine here - it sounds like an issue with your PC blocking cookies which are needed to access the server. Have you disabled these?

Hi Kuz,
Can you please tell us exactly the error reported?
We'll check the server error logs too

At the top of the display area it says PBEM Error and at the bottom left it says Server Error. That's all. I'm sure eventually the questions will get around to the AV I'm running, :) which is Norton 360, but I disabled it last night and got the same error.

I set my IE to the lowest privacy setting, and I uninstalled Norton 360 and got the same error. Is there a port I should open in my router?

Hi Kuz,
Are you experiencing this kind of issue for this game only? Do you have other games to try with?
Another useful info: you are saying you are able to login into the PBEM++, right?
Are you able to play your games as well?

I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, updated it and now it appears to work. I was able to create a challenge in PBEM. I have no idea what reinstalling did but it seems to have resolved the issue.
