Modding Tools

Xml files are easily moddable... to an extent. However, there are some things that are just not possible. This includes importing meshes from the game and exporting new meshes into the game. We'd also like to do things like make new map scripts, add more space for more factions, add more eras to go with more technology, and all kinds of other things.

I think devs' main priotiry right now should be to give us modding tools. It would make things so much better for all of us. Our modding capabilities are pretty limited at the moment even if it is fairly simple to do what little we can do. I think this community would grow exponentially if we had better modding capabilities. Mods tailor games to players of all stripes. I know I like depth and complexity, so I mostly look for mods that provide just that. I know you can add new techs and operations and advancements and other neat things, but we really need to go deeper.
