Former logic doesnt make sense sometimes.

So playing as the Terra Salvum today I noticed something peculiar. One of my hexes characterized as a tropical/forest/hill granted me +1 food, +2 minerals(the additional mineral provided by the Ecologic faction trait), and -1 pollution. I watched as one of my formers set to automate cleared the forest and built a mine. My hex now only gave +2 minerals. Uh.. thanks former?
