Excitement of Discovery

To put it bluntly, that is the biggest thing that Pandora first contact lack. Creating generic circle or oval shapes for continents is a huge bad thing. It's what made me quit Pandora first contact and not bother with the expansion pack.
Don't understand how interesting it can be?
Please allow me to give you an example.... I play with a mod that improves the map creation so that I won't know what the continent looks like in my head by turn 25.
When I first started this map, I thought I snagged a nice coastal location. And scouted the coast... and scouted and scouted, surprisingly the land continues on, I'm now wondering whether if this is a huge bay or a fairly large inland sea.

I redouble my efforts and explore the southern edge at same time learn more about this particular geographic feature so I can plan for future cities correctly and discover that it's a inland sea that can be connected to greater ocean when I place a city in the right place to act as suez canal.

And finally, if this picture don't convince you that you developers should at least attempt to create maps make your Pandora world look like a real world instead of some random battleground with circles/ovals for land, nothing else will I think. This is a screenshot of one of my maps from gods n kings. The planet looks cool in the minimap eh? eh?

Lack of interesting worlds to explore and colonize is the biggest reason why I stopped playing this game after 1-2 months because each map is the same, with variations of how big the circles and ovals are. Please improve the world generation. If a random dude on the internet can make a mod that gives me amazing worlds, you guys should be more than capable please.
