Turkey question

Hi,
I am playing against Schnurri. Me playing the Allies. It is spring '44 and Russia has conquered Hungary and Romania. Last turn I captured Sofia and when the turn ended I got the message that Bulgaria join the Allies. So far so good. What puzzled me was the next message which was that Turkey joins the Allies!

I checked the manual, and the conditions for Turkey joining the Allies:
"Turkey will join the Allies if Athens, Bucharest, Sofia, Moscow, Baku and Baghdad are all Allies
controlled. It's not enough that a city is neutral."

I have not captured Athens, which is still occupied by the axis. Greece is cut of from the rest of the axis empire.

Have anybody else experienced this?

Sounds like a bug, unless you're playing a beta patch and this has changed

I am running the official GS 3.0.
The explanation was so simple when I got the next turn from Schnurri. There was a Bulgarian garrison in Athens. When Bulgaria became Allied, Athens became suddenly under Allied control :D
