Can convoys sail into enemy ports?

Post by fangotango »

When I opened the latest game file, I got an announcement that my British lost a naval unit due to being in a captured port. Mystified, I searched the entire board, but I couldn't find any port that the Axis had just captured. I did see arrows leading into Brest, but there was no naval unit there. I think a convoy sailed right into Brest, which is German controlled. Is this possible, that British convoys would sail into an Axis controlled port?

It just happened in PBEM; the harbor was Brest and was in my hand for a long time.
So, the convoy deliberately went into the port of Brest.
It remains very rare.

I can not post the screen because the forum said my post is spamy but it gives the War Event: "Naval unit in captured port destroyed".

ports are sea hexes so very occasionally convoys pass through Brest, even more rarely into the Med!
