Re: Borodino Assault Group - Aggressive List?
Yes. He was using poor Neapolitan troops in place of the French ones, but that's not possible now with an errata saying the allied troops have to be the same in all aspects as the French to replace them.
Re: Borodino Assault Group - Aggressive List?
Got yah, but then he said upgrade the conscripts, which threw me off

Re: Borodino Assault Group - Aggressive List?
List checking is down to the individual that is doing the rather onerous job. He employs his interpretation of what is written, not yours. If you disagree with him then you can either fix it to his interpretation or toss your toys and not play. I've said my interpretation which has been backed up by others. You then fly off saying it's not right. That's your interpretation. Our opinions differ. Now we need a lawyer...CutEmUp wrote:Well, I say there is no debate over whether or not the word "should" is only a suggestion......the fact that somebody thinks it wasn't picked up in the official errata, nor on the errata thread doesn't mean it's cool for the TO to just make up his own errata after he's already laid out the rules

Re: Borodino Assault Group - Aggressive List?
You are allowed a maximum of four divisions. The infantry division doesn't count as part of the cavalry corps.CutEmUp wrote:Having said that, you only get three division commanders, unless the infantry one doesn't count because it is brought from another list
Therefore 3 x cavalry and 1 x infantry divisions.

So if I wanted to be non controversial, I could go
Exceptional Corps Commander
Competent DC
Small AD Light Cav
Small AD Horse Artillery
Competent DC
Small AD Light Cav
Small AD Horse Artillery
Skilled Charismatic DC
Small SD Shock Cav (French)
Small SD Shock Cav (French)
Small SV Shock Cav (Saxons)
Small AD Shock Cav (Westphalians)
Competent DC
Large AC Line Infantry
Small AD Light Infantry
Small Heavy Guns
Kinda serves the purpose better anyway, each division having its own specific task....impure efficient, if less historical....I guess you could say non French "should" be in separate but the minimums fit for just French anyway and I'll call them proxies, for beauty's sake

Re: Borodino Assault Group - Aggressive List?
I'll be updating divisional composition for use with lists in both ToN or EaE with the following:
Infantry division: At least 3 units, up to one of which may be field or horse artillery. No cavalry units are permitted.
Mixed division: At least 2 infantry units, plus either 1 or 2 cavalry units, plus up to 1 field or horse artillery unit.
Cavalry division: At least 2 cavalry units plus up to one horse artillery unit. No infantry units are permitted.
These compositions may only be modified by the specific lists special instructions.

That posting was from Terry, not me.

What was the reason/rationale for that update?

Re: Borodino Assault Group - Aggressive List?
It's actually a clarification or such. It's the same as p. 17 in the rules. Somewhere in one or more of the lists books, ToN I think, it said something slightly different.
Re: Borodino Assault Group - Aggressive List?
Is it to make sure I can't use the list the way they claim in the book that it was used historically.....could fornier's division be the loophole here.....I still am not sure what that bullet point means....am I allowed a division with one infantry unit and can I have artillery in that division?
Re: Borodino Assault Group - Aggressive List?
Yeah, before it said something entirely different.....it said a cavalry division could contain any number of cavalry units plus a horse artillery unit....
In all three books it says that
In all three books it says that

Re: Borodino Assault Group - Aggressive List?
If it was me, I'd definintely want an officer attached to one of the superior shock cavalry units . In practice you want to maximise the units in combat rerolling both 1's and 2's !
Re: Borodino Assault Group - Aggressive List?
hmmmm . . . come to think of it, having one of the two LC units as superior is a good addition into the whump capacity (also, BTB, re-rolling both 1's and 2's makes for an additional hit in combat for any small unit on average dice rolls !).
You might be able to do that by shifting one or both of the horse artillery to drilled (or the light infantry) . . . you're going to relying on whump factor anyhows so who cares if the guns aint veteran !
