Essen preview of new reader
Hi guys
if anyone is going to be at Essen you'll get the chance of previewing the new version of the reader which is coming soon. It is better in every way and has new features such as book marks, search and notes.
Hoping to be ready to submit to the app store in a few weeks time.
Cheers
Iain

Sadly I won't be at Essen but I'm looking forward to the changes. Will there be a better way of providing references to page numbers in the printed version?

Are the PC and Mac versions updated as well or just iOS?

The features are related to the iPad version at the moment. They'll be a free update for anyone with the iPad version.
Abannan are not working on a Nook or Android version at the moment. If we can persuade Abannan to add the features on PC and Mac we will be this is a harder sell.

This is great news. I've been wondering for a long time when update would come.
I'll be getting the new iPad Air as soon as possible, and it'll be great to have a new version of FOG to read on it!

Continuing to use the Abannan platform as the basis for the digital rules given the Abannan track record seems to make the whole idea of digital rules a harder sell. At this point it may be time to realize that you've backed the wrong horse and to completely re-think your digital strategy. Tabletop rules essentially only supported as an iPad app are not the way to go.IainMcNeil wrote:The features are related to the iPad version at the moment. Especially as IOS7 seems to have killed the rules app on our iPad minis!batesmotel wrote:Continuing to use the Abannan platform as the basis for the digital rules given the Abannan track record seems to make the whole idea of digital rules a harder sell. This. Continuing to stick with Abannan is a mistake, IMO.batesmotel wrote:Continuing to use the Abannan platform as the basis for the digital rules given the Abannan track record seems to make the whole idea of digital rules a harder sell. Re: Essen preview of new reader
So, I just got my iPad Air and one of the first apps I opened is the FoG reader. I can't believe how terrible the text looks. It hasn't been set up with "Retina display" images, so the text is all jaggy. It's pretty much unreadable.
Please tell me that the upcoming update is optimized for Retina displays.
And is there any sort of an ETA? Even approximate?

Re: Essen preview of new reader
They keep rejecting it because of some mix up in the system. Oh joy. On our 4th attempt now.
Its nothing to do with the app itself - just some settings on the IAP that we are not able to change and trying to find a work around that Apple wont reject. It went in to review again today so we're hoping this finally gets resolved soon...
