@ Robotron : I am playing CP side Potzblitz v 9.3 with Steel. I got artillery research displayed on turn 2, but artillery research was not available anymore on turn 3 for AH (neither Germany which just enter war). I had noticed that in single player once, but I thought I had mistaken. Is it a bug ?

yes the base game on balanced, is to easy, its early 1916 and russia is going to lose and im pushing france, towards paris. romania, bulgaria, and portugal are going to be going. but ya once i beat the base game i willl be reinstalling the mod, cause its way to easy.

Yes it's most certain a bug but I can't see the cause right now. Hope you can cope with it until the next update.

Well, even if I play my own mod there are often enough situations when I think "damn, the game is lost", then I play another 5 turns and then I'm "hey, I'll win after all", then maybe another 5 turns after this I'm like "okay, now I'm f*cked" and another 5 turns after this I feel victorious again.

Enough players have reported that they'd beaten Potzblitz (maybe with reload-cheating, I don't care) but I can tell you even without reloading the game is winnable for an expert player who knows what is going to work.

Seems to be caused by disembarking a unit, after disembarking the unit is not registered properly...

Is this reproducible? If so, upload the AutosaveEndturn file usually to be found in your Documents folder, so look in "My Documents\My Games\Commander The Great War".

Put the autosave.endturn files into a .zip or .rar archive and attach it to your next reply using the forum's "upload attachment" feature in the bottom left corner of the reply box in "full editor & preview" mode.

Damn, there's a game-breaking typo in V9.3 that renders the game unplayable...@#§*%!!!!

@ Robotron : it is very Strange, but the artillery research appeared again on turn 4, both for AH and Germany. Everything seems in order. I attached the log files in case it could be usefull. Thanks.

@eriador08: yes, you're at the right place here. 8)

To be able to continue your match you will have to manually update one of the game's scripts.

The script's name is:

game_events.lua

and you will find it in the folder called:

CTGW/Data/Scripts/game

I have attached a zip-archive to this reply containing the fixed script.

Unpack it and copypaste it over the existing one in the mentioned folder, overwriting the old one.

Your opponent will have to do the same.

Still unable to open. Tried with both WinRar and 7zip on different machines.

Try uploading in zip-format instead.

That worked and I could reproduce the crash too. I'll see what I can do about the bug.

Fixed.

You can either wait for V9.4 (due this weekend...again) or overwrite the script called:

game_move.lua

which is located in:

CTGW/Data/Scripts/game

with the corrected file found in the attachment.

Game freezing

The debugging worked and I was able to get into another round.
Then, it froze again when I'd attacked a convoy on the hex 75,28 (port at Charbourgh). After that, I couldn't even load the turn beginning save, it freezes during loading.
I'm attaching the broken save.

Yes, I see. Also the logfile does not mention any cause for the crash.

There's not much I can do without a proper crash report and 9.3 was a pretty buggy release anyway, so better wait for 9.4 and then start anew.

This update addresses all bugs that were reported over the last few weeks and a few minor gameplay issues.
No PDF manual update this time.

As always: don't update any matches in progress, instead start new matches AFTER having applied the update.
