Welcome to the BA2 forums!
Welcome to the Battle Academy 2 forums. Opening them this early in the process is a new step for us, but we want to try getting your feedback and involvement in the whole process of making BA 2 the best game possible.
Battle Academy 2 will focus on the Eastern Front of WW2. Part of the process we go through will be deciding how the break out all the various battles and fronts in this part of the war into interesting and consistent campaigns.
We at Slitherine will be using these forums for our own discussions as much as possible, so you can both get to see how decisions get made and also tell us what you think should happen. We're not always going to be able to take advantage of every idea, but we always promise to listen and consider!
We'll be populating the forum with threads on some of the key new features and hope to see lots of people here giving their ideas and hopes for this exciting new step for Battle Academy.
Cheers
The Slitherine Team

Fantastic news (to me, just joining these forums)! I was afraid there was not enough interest in BA to make you interested in future development, but I am happy to see I was wrong.

I think weather should play a major part in gameplay. Such as your men are out in the cold for to long they may route or just lose all of their morale. And radio operations should be added. Such as them being able to call artillery or keeping a separated army together. And digging fox holes and trenches for your men would help. And repairing vehicles when they are damaged like in the actual war. And engineers being able to build sandbags MG nests and MINES!!! Hopefully this will at-least give you guys some ideas

I'm getting a lot of these ideas from Company of Heroes. It's like BA with better graphics and its real time.

Re: Welcome to the BA2 forums!
Update to my last post as far as defenses we should add trenches like in the Great War Mods (Try them out, they are worth your time) and their should be a very big role for engineers. The thing that BA disappoints me in is they are good mainly for assaults. That's why we have Special Units (Rangers, Waffen SS, Commandoes, and paratroopers) Engineers should have to be able to build and destroy obstacles. As far as gameplay weather needs to be there such as more bogg downs less visibility morale drops and even DEATH (A unit is out too long and a soldiers catches frostbite)

Re: Welcome to the BA2 forums!
I think another big thing we need is gunners on personnel carriers. The thing that really frustrated me in BA was knowing the a Halftrack could easily kill most of my men and the only way I could destroy it was with ranged explosives or getting up close and personal which 90% of the time ended with disaster...

I like BA but this seems to be even better - but when will it be released? 2013?
