Promotion / experience

Well in few skirmish game I noticed that some units have been promoted without kill their target. Is it normal?

It's a new mechanic to allow for units gaining experience just by being in combat, without having to actually get the kill. We are still deciding whether it works well :)

I think it improves verisimilitude and provides better incentives. Winning improves morale, losing decreases it, but either way hard knock lessons that leave you alive provide good experience - indeed, winning can lead to complacency.

(E.g., German tankers learned how to work around the early Russian heavy tank advantage, skills which served well even when the tools were more equal.)
