Hi everyone, is it just me or are orks and space marines fairly unbalanced? It might be my poor generalship, but the price of a solid marine unit like the stenguard veterans seems very low compared to the amount of ork infantry units it takes to bring it down. Even the mighty battlehammer tank gets mowed down by the pts equivalent of veterans. Then you bring in sanguinary guards and their ability to mash pretty much anything you throw at them and the game becomes rather frustrating quickly. I ve been playing against the same opponent for 8 or so matches and so far whenever I take marines I win solidly and vice versa. The only close game was an ork vs imperial guard one. Really finding it hard to give my opponents much of a fight if I'm fielding orks against marines. What am I doing wrong?
I completely agree.... Game is unbalanced.... One of the advantages of the orks was the vast number of units... Overwhelm the opponent.... Now they are limited and their costs are too high.... Only thing to do at this point is limit the points the marines/imperium can have
Haven't played for a while, so not sure how(if) balance has changed in the meantime. But as far as i remember you should mostly spam shootas and tankbustas (everything else wasn't cost-effective), with some stormboyz against snipers/arty and warbosses for morale and recon. Also some gretchins on battlewagons with supakanons for arty are not bad (if they didn't nerf them yet). This doesn't work at all if the map is big or has low number of turns to win though.
