Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the best place for a post like this. If it isn't let me know where and the post can be removed.

I'm really wanting to do some war gaming on my iPad and I'm torn between the multiple options. The options I am currently interested in are:

Warhammer: Armageddon
Panzer Corps
Battle Academy 1
Battle Academy 2

What I'm really looking for is the best multiplayer turn based strategy game out of these where the community is active and the game still has some life in it. I'm unable to check the active games/players for each game, so I'm hoping players can help give me some insight.

It depends what you are looking for. Battle Academy is a more complex game but is purely mission based so very little carryover for the campaign game. There are some with it, but most are single missions. It is perfect for multiplayer.

Panzer Corps & WH40k are more focused on the single player campaign with great progression.

I was going to get Warhammer until I found out I cannot play on the Ork side. So I passed.

I guess panzer corps is more active and has better MP, you can even hotseat.

However both Armageddon and Panzer corps is more of a campaign game, great campaigns too imo.

You can play the Orcs' side. At least per the scenarios. Just load any scenario into the editor & switch to the side you wish to play.

Armageddon is more a story, it has more surprising events, so it is less a strategical game than PanzerCorps.
Armageddon has a very different replayability, it is based on tries to know the turnarounds of the scenario,
when PzC replayability is more based on trying different strategies.

If you are a megafan of 40K, you should try Armageddon because there aren't many good 40K games even in Windows. On ios, its even less.
If you like WW2 rather than 40K, then try Panzer Corps. Its also one of few good turn based WW2 games.
