More Ultimative Faction Setups

Okay - da Orkz vs UltraMarines is already not bad at all - sorry for the easy words
only since im a longtime toptable designer i must here leave my finalizing thoughts!
Such classic games how Slitherine designs should not be too trashy mishups
but more the finest selections of the very best setups from all Warhammer choices.
The factions at best offer maximum contrast in any terms and mostly design related.
Enough of this here are my wishes for new 40k hexbased releases:

ELDAR VS. CHAOS

SPACE WOLVES VS. TYRANIDS

...

and thoughts?


P.S.: Also WHFB as far as i know has not seen
any roundbased tactics game up now - why?

I may be mistaken but in terms of official vendor / Dev support, this game seems to be dead.

Some stuff going on with a community project but it does not seem like major game changes or coverage for the 1st War of Armageddon will ever happen at Slitherine .... which is unfortunate.

I dont think so since the gamestyle is sorta addicting - only the high price besides
of course the previous Steam dependency kindof keeps peoples from playing even if
a few animations arent meeting everyones expection.

I like it a lot - but I'm thinking that Slitherine and the Lordz don't see enough marketability in it for future work.

Like you said - not flashy with animations etc ... so not really well suited for the Console style focus they are taking these days.


Maybe they can sell the Publishing rights off to Hexwar at some point and the development can continue ....

Actually i think Orks vs Eldar is also
quite cool - especially wildorks!
Maybe also abit more - depth - roleplay-ish?

In just about every 40k game forum there are always fans calling out for their favorite faction to be covered. That's to be expected and is part of the fun ;)

In this case however I think we may be spinning our wheels when it comes to speculating on Armageddon.

It would be nice to think that posting interest here or in other forums might show fan interest and potential profit but over on Steam we had a polite petition running with good response from the fans and nothing came from it. No acknowledgement was given.

It might be too much of a hassle vs the anticipated sales for them to go back to GW and get another agreement on IP elements to use.

They are keeping their own counsel so we may never know ....

Anyways ... back to the Battle of Tallarn.

Your work looks interesting and it's on my list to try.

My real interest can't be covered by your allowed scope (I don't think) as Slitherine atm only has rights to publish 2nd War content and not the 1st War with Chaos.

I would be delighted if my interpretation of this situation was wrong :wink:

First Armageddon war campaign can be done with this game engine but needs competely new models. If I knew how to draw existing units, I would do it, but I'm sorry... =)
But 3rd Armageddon war (without Chaos invasion in 42st millenium) can be done with existing models if you work hard... I have a plan to do that but never had time.

I wonder if there is some budding young computer artist that might assist you with the Chaos models?

One could hope for that in the future. Good Luck with that .....


As for more Orks, we could use another Ork Campaign like needin anudder hole in Da' head :D

Btw. - is this game at all really for MultiPlay as well?
Sure - its quite addicting but can take immense amounts of time with those huge battles.
How about something completely new - fast paced hex battling with characteristic warbands?
Did someone here say ShadeSpire?
