could you provide us with the following data, please:
1. Locate your log folder
The game writes information in several logs. They are usually to be found in:
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Germany at War
Send them if they are required or you can also do it always to be sure all is done to provide evidence.
2. Get a DirectX Diagnostic file:
1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
dear sir , I tried to upload the DirX file.... however this site will not allow me to send the file in question.
I did notice in the DirX file that this PC windows 8.1 64 bit is using DirX ver. 11..... should I be using ver 9c (2008) ????
one more observation also, when I installed 1.06 patch I was able to see the enhanced control panel and was able to move units.... infantry, air arty... whenever I clicked on a tank it crashed, this I tested several time.... perhaps a clue ???? thanks for all! enjoying your game every day! jerome

OK, so 1.06 is starting after all - i had the impression it crashes right away.
A simple click on any tank crashes the version ? Or do you need to move the tanks ? And you can move any other unit without the crash ?

you need to use either winzip or winrar or another type of those type of programs to compress the file to a zip format then attach it to your post, or if all else fails, just copy paste into the main body of the post the info asked for, might be a big long post but info is what's needed, good luck

I had to post this in two sections, it was larger than the site would allow.... I hope this is helpful in determining the cause. goodluck men. to answer randalls question(s) with ver 1.06 I was able to launch the game.... see the new control panel and move units... it was when I clicked on any tank the game crashed. also it should be noted I used a different scenario (fresh never played) each time I tested the newest patch. I also reinstalled the DirX that was in the resdist folder and once again tested the mentioned procedure.... it crashed as well. 1,02 +1.05 work well and the game is enjoyable and fully playable. thankyou Jerome.

To avoid it being a driver issue that might be resolved with the latest version, we recommend an update for this bug hunt.
It is great the game starts as this means we can get some logs it creates. It would be very helpful if you could install 1.06 and reproduce the crash you got and copy the logs you find under:
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Germany at War
Zip or Rar them and place them either here or send them attached to a mail to: wendt@phobetor.de
