@kondi: Yeah, I am an expert wikipedia historian.
@adherbal: Last time I checked the M3 Lee and Grant were pretty much the same vehicles. Maybe different variants, but still that odd two turret design, high profile, good target for an 88. Doesnt matter, just keep posting screenshots. I'd like to see the Ju87G with dual cannons in action. Please make this a switch ability. Would be awesome.

Re: Heavy Steel preview
Grant was simply a Lend-lease version of Lee. So, it seems to me but I could be wrong.

Re: Heavy Steel preview
This thread has me OOB-energized again. I'm not contributing a darned thing to it, as usual, but I am enjoying it!

Re: Heavy Steel preview
Camo/skins will be available at some time. Then you are supposed to be able to change the skin on your favorite big cat
Re: Heavy Steel preview
Its possible to see also winter camo in winter scenarios automatically ?
Re: Heavy Steel preview
Okay, maybe I should check out these mods. Do they already offer all these new tanks or is it just for demonstration?
(Really dont know anything about the modding scene here...frankly, dont have that much time to invest right now...)

Re: Heavy Steel preview
Yeah, the Lee/Grant tank gets a bad rep but it was not a bad stop-gap tank for its day. The Grant was the lend-lease version of the M3 Lee, the turret change was requested by the British to move the radio up into to the turret and dispense with the fairly useless .30 cal turret. It had a short service life but at the time it DID give the British a tank with decent armor, and, possibly more importantl, a tank with a Main gun with a good High Explosive shell. One thing most of these games miss is that the British 2lb and 6lb guns lacked any High Explosive capability until 1944. Tying to take out an anti-tank gun with a solid shot AP round was a bit of a lost cause.
Re: Heavy Steel preview
@adherbal: Nice, looks great. (Even though that is not my favourite desert camo, prefer the yellowish one.)
Always good to know you guys make progress and add stuff. Please keep posting pics.

Re: Heavy Steel preview
Desert Snakes = Best picture of unit with custom skin I have seen for this game
Will it be possible to set the camo of the units with the editor ?

Re: Heavy Steel preview
Not right now, but it will probably be added eventually as a trigger effect. So you can - for example - set desert camo for all AI/aux units at the start of a scenario, assign a different camo pattern to a specific unit on a specific event, etc.
Re: Heavy Steel preview
Aah yesss, ssskinsss!
Sounds good with the trigger to change the camo theme, next to a manual method for player-only units.

1-Perfect Camouflage for everyone in an event, something very necessary in the game.
2-Also we will be able to see in a future a Free UI?...
There are images in the UI that works and others do not, and it is a Pain of a great game to leave it in half.
Example Free UI: Order of Battle Kriegsmarine missing and bugs v3.4.2 >> http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 64&t=77116

@bcnkor: Every. Single. Thread. The devs have seen it by now. Give it a rest, please.

Re: Heavy Steel preview
@Erik and everybody: Werent a couple of posts about some mod here? Were they removed? Sorry, but I am not fully aware about any policies regarding this.
Re: Heavy Steel preview
It looks like they have actually been removed.Andy2012 wrote:@Erik and everybody: Werent a couple of posts about some mod here? Were they removed? Sorry, but I am not fully aware about any policies regarding this.
From what I know, the "creator" of these mods has permanently violated the rules and was banned.
Apparently he exaggerated again.
You will find both threads about his mods in the "Scenario Design" section.
Re: Heavy Steel preview
@kondi: Yeah, I remember some post about "the Artistocrats can pack it up" or something. Almost as odd as that German dude with his inane rants. Well, lets hope that adherbal post some pics again to cheer everybody up.
BTW, are there any explicit forum rules? They almost seem unnecessary, everybody behaves around here, mostly.
