Test: Damage Types

Post by Horst »

Here you can see how certain units do damage with an attack value of 17 to a 10-strength land-unit with defense 10 over several consecutive attacks/turns. All units have/start with 0 xp. In this test, the experience gain couldn't be really turned off, but I gave each attack 10 assault to ignore any possible entrenchment. All shock values have been removed.
The listed numbers show the combat prediction. A "-" means the targeted unit was killed in the previous attack/turn. No attack is possible with "eff 0". Also note that unit damage/strength is always calculated with decimals but only shown as natural numbers in the game.
If arty takes a turn pause to recover full efficiency again, it would take 10 attacks to kill a 10-strength target.
Damage on air and naval types are missing, as I was more curious about the damage on ground targets.

As you can see, the naval attacks are pretty merciless to low-strength land-units compared to all other attack types.
An attack value of 34 kills a def-10 unit in a single turn, no matter what damage type.
