Feel the Wheel of Steel: Red Steel Review and Discuss

Post by Andy2012 »

Alright, guys: It took some time in beta, but right now the Wheel of Steel is here to keel, uhm, kill.

The Red Army rumbles over the battlefield again. It is not the sleekest formation, more like a drunkard with a butcher's cleaver facing a fencer with a rapier. Meaning: This will get messy. But only steel is real. Yeah.

I have played all missions in beta and will use my Red Star core for this playthrough. As usual, I will post deployment and tactics. Even though we are all in pandemic mode lockdown, this may not proceed faster than usual.

Everybody, feel free to discuss and comment. :D

8.4.1 is out!

Red Steel will be officially out at 3PM Uk Time. However, if you're pre-ordered from Slitherine store, then you'll find that you're already able to activate the content with your serial key!

Is it just me or did the UI changes make the text a lot smaller and harder to read?

The Font is different, but uses the same Point, so should be the same size. What resolution are you using?

1600x900, I do remember it being easier to read pre-patch, but It's not that big of an issue just something that I noticed

I have a 2560x1440 27 inch monitor, and for me UI is now too large. Seems fonts increased as well. Is there a way to make the UI and fonts smaller, as they were before?

maybe I'm wrong about the fonts, but UI definitely occupies more space now

We are looking into providing an option to "unscale" the UI for this situation

I do get similar menus when I leave data files open. If that's the case here too, and you have opened game data files - close them before launching the game.

Edit: BoB mod launches fine btw, so in general there's no bigger prob it seems with mods.
