THE HISTORY CHANNEL Great Battles of Rome is an action packed battle game. Its main features focus is on a Generals preparations for War through careful planning and tactical awareness. Once combat is joined a combination of nerve and quick thinking is necessary to defeat the enemy. The game is steeped in historical atmosphere and immediately immerses the player in the ancient Roman world. The intuitive user interface allows the player complete control throughout the game giving him the ability to react to any battle situation both at pre battle deployment and later when the action begins. The PSP version also features Wi-Fi head to head battles, and the PlayStation2 has a split screen Multiplayer mode.

Merging dramatic TV footage from The History Channel with the games epic battles, will allow players to immerse themselves in history, whilst still enjoying exciting gameplay in a style never before seen on the console. The History Channel and Slitherine will collaborate in respect of research and historical accuracy through their teams of experts both in the US and Europe.

The PS2 version is PAL - it will not play outisde of PAL territories. You need an NTSC version for USA.

How will this work on the psp, can you really control up to 20 squads at the same time?(just had to ask, sounds pretty heavy for a psp system.) :?
Anyhow this will be an exiting game, can't wait to get my hands on this.

Are the battles different from Legion Arena(I mean battle sites) ?
Can man play other then Roman armies?Like Germanic campaign-surely rich on conflicts with Romans?

It is the same basic scenarios from Legion Arena, though there are some tweaks for play balance.

The release date for the PC version published by cdv Software Entertainment USA will be around 9/17/07.

No, unfortunately Sony decided they didn't want the game to release in the USA. Once they decide that there is nothing we can do about it. The only way to get the game in the US is to order from our site and we'll export it to you.
