Enjoying it so far

It took a very long time to download on my work/ gaming computer on Friday but then the rest of the day was wasted as I played it.

I enjoy it immensely already and look forward to playing others online as I do with FOGAM.

A couple of things I don't like -

1. I haven't yet worked out how to get rid of the constant description and commentary which I find very disruptive;
2. I don't like how light foot units look - they seem much too formed up;
3. The status of a unit is apparent at the start of a turn even if the event has not yet been resolved, so sometimes it is apparent whether something is going to break, even if it hasn't yet.

And the French 30 years war list options for the skirmish games are a bit funny too - no option for horse as opposed to determined horse - I can't try and replicate my glorious 15mm tabletop french with hordes of average, armoured, impact and melee pistol horse (I don't like determined horse)

Go to 'Options', then "Advanced Options". There you can turn off everything. "J" toggles the size of the mini map, you can turn it off also. Clicking the Info button removes the battle info on the left upper side of the screen.

This is because the combat calculations are done long before the queued visual animations and results boxes are displayed, but the unit status is calculated in real time.
