How to Run CEAW - GS from a DOS Window for Debugging

Post by rkr1958 » Sat Aug 07, 2010 3:25 am

1 - 5. Open up a DOS window

6 - 8. Change directory to CEAW - GS main directory

9. Launch CEAW - GS via command line using the command:

jre\bin\java.exe -Xss20m -Xms400m -Xmx800m -classpath . CEAW 14100

10. Capture any error messages. The DOS window will stay up even when you quit CEAW -GS or even when CEAW - GS returns to O/S.

when I try to run it with CMD it crashes the launcher with a message saying slithlaunch.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I don't even think I can fix that...

That's an O/S error message. It may be that your java version needs to be updated. At a minimum I would uninstall GS and CEaW, reinstall everything fresh and go from there.

Okay doing that not only allowed CMD to run it... it allowed it to run without errors.

Not sure about CTDs during gameplay yet but I got music and visuals.

You've helped me on several threads. Thanks bro.
