game locks up while playing axis

played entire game as allies with no problems but when playing axis it always seems to lock up around turn 23 or so. any suggestions as to why?

When does it happen? (e.g., convoy movement phase). If so, try playing with random convoy movement off. There was a bug with that which cause the game to hang and which we've fixed in GSv2.10 (soon to be released).

Is this the standard game or the GS expansion?

I'm having the same problem. I'm playing the Allies though, with GS expansion. It happened sometime during early 1941, and as it happened EVERY time the Axis moved that particular turn I just didn't bother playing for a while. Retried two days ago, and it worked, the very same save and all. However, I'm having trouble again with lock-ups now in 1942. Happens every time during the enemy turn. Have an autosave I can mail if you're interested.

Don't know if it's related, but my log says something about not being able to place a new unit...
