why upgrade?

I'm playing against an opponet who prefers volume over upgrades, while I spend valuable money upgrading only to keep losing battles. My question is...why upgrade then if you can't get an upper edge?

Have you read some of the lab strategies that have been published with Grand Strategy expansion? The labs chosen for each power should be focused and support your overall strategy.

Having said that - I know what you mean - been there are done that. I have some times been overwhelmed.

Let me know if you need a copy of the GS 2.0 manual. There is also a brochure on technical research.
