[Mod] Unit Icons Expanded

Post by Ballbarian »

Mod to give unique images to the different nations units. No longer will the Hadrigel Old Guard look the same as the Galeni Templars or the Dwarven Heavy Guard.
Adds 244 unit images, 244 combat icons and 244 promotion icons to the game. Effort was made to adhere to each nations theme and general feel in the selection of images.

Current game version supported: Beta 1.6
Download: see the Steam post in Sovereignty: Crown of Kings > Modding discussion
(I was unable to post a link here due to being a new user.)

The link downloads a zip file which can be imported via the games mod manager.
From the Sovereignty help files:

Installing a Mod
To install a mod provided by another player, follow these steps:
1. Open the File menu
2. Select Import Mod->From Zip
3. Browse to the location of the downloaded mod and click Open
4. The mod will appear in the Available Mods list
5. Select the mod by clicking on it
6. Click the “>”button to move the mod to the Active Mods list
7. Open the File menu
8. Select Save Mod Configuration

ALERT! Mods are intended to work with New Games only. Sovereignty will not allow you to load a saved game created with different mods. You must have all of the same mods active to load a saved game.

If you have the windows version of the game, you should be able to use the mod tools without it asking for steam to be installed.

Can you let me know exactly when and how it requests steam?

Just between the picture and the discussion, it asks to "Subscribe to download", connect or create an account.
"We are the Steam and its Gabe queen. We will add your technological distinctiveness to our own. Your computer will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."

Ah, i see - i thought you were saying that the mod manager tool required steam, when it should not.

In any case, this is a very old post, and mods no longer work via zip files like that, the tools are different now to when this post was created.

I don't know the details of how the steam discussion boards work, but i can't say that it's a big surprise that it would require an account before using them.
